Wyze Cam V2 Yellow Light Not Blinking (Bricked) QUICK FIX

See how to fix a Wyze Cam V2 that is bricked with a steady yellow LED.
If the LED is fixed and not flashing you need to re-flash the camera, so I will show you how to download and re-install the Wyze Cam firmware.

Working now after following your video. CamV2 been dead since Jan. Wyze chat support said to buy a new Cam. After a little complaining I was offered a $10 discount to buy a new camera. Thank You Wyze for that offer. Not wanting to create more electronic waste found your video. BIG time Thank You for your video that a non-technical person can follow.

Thanks for the detailed walk through! It didn’t work the first time (maybe I was too impatient) but I restarted it a few more times, and the later tries, I waited a a few minutes longer even though it went back to a solid yellow - it eventually started flashing yellow!

Thank you for this! I was able to get mine unbricked! I'm not sure if it was the renaming of the file that did it, or if I did something different/correctly, but it didn't work following the steps on the wyze website but with your video I got it!

Thanks for video. I got 5 v2 brick from last year due to wrong updates wyze, tried manually flashing it, but the software did not revive them, I shall look for them and try again this year.

Want to add a few notes that helped in my case - ensure that your SD card is formatted in Windows FAT/FAT32 format. My Wyze cam didn't seem to be able to even read the .bin file prior to that. Next, the camera didn't like the most recent Firmware file. I went all the way back to August 2020 and that was the one that got my v2 to UN-brick. Hope this helps someone.

Wow. I can't believe I didn't think of this. I had to use a 3rd party disk utility to get my card formatted to FAT32 but that finally did the trick! Thank you!

@WiseArts where did you find the August 2020 firmware? It only gives me options for back to September 2023.

I got the same issue on 2 cams.. Sadly after going blue, it never recovered and got back to the steady yellow light (with ir lights active) I feel there's a nand issue on these cameras that has a limited amount of writes or something until it dies

Nothing really happened to mine other than the yellow light changed to blue shortly and then back to YELLOW!😞

Mine went right back to the steady yellow light after the blue

Mine went back to constant yellow about 30 seconds aftter the blue. I then plugged out the power cable and removed the sd card, put the camera aside like 30 seconds, then plugged the power cable in again while holding the reset button. It started with solid yellow light (keep holding the reset button!) but almost 1 minutes later I heard the voice "Ready to connect". Finally I was able to set it up and it works as before.

I did everything suggested. Got a blue solid light that changed to a yellow solid light. That's all. I just went to Amazon and purchased a Ring Camera and called it a day! Wyze sucks.

I’m sorry you are having a bad experience with the Wyze cameras, in my case is quite the opposite, my Wyze cameras are working well for years with local recording while Ring sucks because it’s mandatory to record into the cloud and is 100% dependent on the Internet for that… since no Internet link works 100% of the time, sometimes recordings are not done properly.

@@SmartDevicesChannel It was either buy a ring camera or ANOTHER wyze camera that might do the same thing I'm dealing with unfortunately. I wish my Wyze camera would work😞

@@SmartDevicesChannel I just tried to signup for a Ring Account on their app and it constantly says error. My ring camera is to be delivered today from Amazon and I plan to refuse the package and have them return it. Could you let me know which Wyze camera I should buy since the other one is totally bricked???

My camera was working totally fine today until I clicked on update because I thought it was going to work better ridiculous yellow light won't turn off long story short I'm just going to buy a different camera and no more wyze garbage camera
