Thanks for taking the time for the tests. I'll include some other that folks may want to know about how those models compare. It should be mentioned that both cameras have very poor audio quality far below 8bit mono audio making it hard to tell what people are saying unless they're right up close to the camera. Analog phone calls from 60 years ago were much better than the audio quality on these new cameras. The cameras tend to record at very low levels, end up garbled with compression artifacts and they add lots of random phantom noises and garbled voice sounds for hours when it's quiet. They have a frequency response of approximately 300Hz- 1KHz at best which records muffled vowel sounds but no consonants. With this in mind, try to do a realistic audio test out where people would actually be rather than up next to the camera. In real life, people further away or facing the other way can't be heard at all. We could hear you up close on a ladder facing the camera but intruders aren't going to be speaking loud and clear while looking directly at the camera while standing still at close range. People may not notice the very poor audio quality since most of the video was shot using a decent external mic dubbed OVER the Wyze audio. The V3 Pro should be better than it is from looking at all the new selling points. It's slightly better in full light but not as good as the old V3 at night. The audio quality on the V3 Pro is slightly better than the V3 which brings it up to low quality on the new one. Most of their cams are heading in the direction of less low light capabilities than before. The V3 Pro should have been better and the Battery Cam Pro released in 2023 has almost no night vision at all but you cant tell that from the advertisements. Side-by-side controlled testing shows the new Battery Cam pro has around 1/4 of the low light capability of the V3. Even the budget Wyze OG for $24 retail has much better night vision than the $94 Battery Cam pro and the 2023 OG (3x zoom version) also has poor night vision due to the zoom lens which cuts the light by 3x. The older V3 and V2 outdoor can see fairly well on dark, moonlight starry nights and are able to take some nice star-lit time lapse videos showing stairs, aircraft and clouds going over at night quite clearly. The newer cams can't do that despite calling it a starlight sensor. That doesn't mean anything of itself since each model is different and some can't see at night at all. Note that the fancy V3 Battery Pro is their 1st outdoor cam that doesn't need a dedicated base station. It can run on regular WIFI which is useful and has a removable battery which is a good idea. However, using WIFI on the Battery Cam Pro instead of a base station drops the battery life a lot vs the Battery Cam outdoor V2 which can runs for months. I tested two V3 Battery Pro with daily traffic a couple times a day, spot light off, night vision IR emitters off, continuous recording off and with full WIFI signal they need to be charged every 2 -3 weeks despite their spec saying 6 months battery life. The older Outdoor V2 can go 3 -4 months at a time in the same setting or stay at 100% if using the small solar panel even on cloudy days. These cameras all have pros and cons due to having so many models and things added, not quite working or missing. Note that most of them now have a visible IR light that intruders can see vs the older ones that were invisible. The V3 can do invisible IR LED settings with several options while all the newer ones appear to use 850nm LED's which are visible as red lights on the OG, Battery Cam Pro, V3 Pro and the V3 pan. The original V3 can do 850 or improved 940nm lighting which is invisible. The others can't do that.

Is it just me, or is motion tagging the motion useless and annoying feature on these cameras? The V3 Pro is better during the daytime and worse at nighttime, compared to the V3.

Turning off the background lighting at night would have been helpful to your comparison presentation.

That light definitely helps on the pro, but it will alert anyone walking past that they are being filmed.
