This build is 1hr 42min because I needed to clear space on my build schedule for an event build coming soon! This print of Luke's Landspeeder is from STL files created by the Artists at 3Dfiglab - you can find them on Facebook, Patreon or you can email them at 3dfiglab@gmail.com

The back of your head never looked so good! Joking aside this turned out excellent - and as I said on instagram, that moisture evaporator is a beaut! Job well done

I think if the base was a bit bigger; for the stand it'd be cool to use some reflective card or mirrored material to simulate the slightly angled down mirrors they used in the film to make it look like it hovered. Very cool build 👍

Thank you Phil for a great video and wonderful build, as usual you did a fantastic job, and because we're so happy and want to contribute with the good vibes, we decided that from today and until December 31st, all that purchase the Landspeeder and follows us in our social media, we'll be giving them the Landspeeder base diorama for free!! As a thank you for watching and liking this video. And as you always say: BUILD SOMETHING!!

That's really nice, it does need the figuers to go with it, just to finish it off. I'll wish you and your family all the best for the New Year, and when I have time I'll geet bact to painting and building my Tamiya 1/35th scale King tiger tank! I start models and then come away from them for a while,. You, Lou ans Wayne are a great bunch of guys, helped get me through Lockdown .. Thanks for sharing this hobby with all of us. Great to see the filming model of the TARDIS in the other video. Take care.

Phil i opened up one of the boot panels ( behind the seats either side of the top engine) and put my batteries in there.

Lately I've been having a hard time going between scale modelers, subscription assemblers, and lego builds. It's been a refreshing journey following your adventures in real creation using small garage companies and seat of your pants creativity. I am currently working on a closed box diorama using a 1/24 scale work truck & My favorite scene from CE3K. Your work and production background are an inspiration. (Coming from an early Lightwave dude and VFX artist.)

Really nice files of the landspeeder and vaporator! The work done to get an approximate rendition of the Tatooine model is really good. Love the added wires and machinery in the exposed engine.

Really nice build. If ever I can find someplace to put a 3D printer in my work area, I'll have to look at taking on a project like this. I wonder if it would be possible to "levitate" the speeder using magnets....🤔

I’ve been looking for one of these to print in 1/24 scale. This is timely. Should do nicely.

FYI: It's a moisture vaporator, not evaporator. It collects moisture from the air and on Tatooine, there is no water underground. Also, the X-34 never sits at an angle. The repulsorlift generator keeps it perfectly level, especially when parked. Very nice work on the portside engine, Phil!

Saber Knife: I noticed in the close up action that the blade tip has lost its point. That fine, sharp point is everything when you are using an X-Acto. I'm guessing that since the vibration is doing the cutting, a precise point is pointless [sic]. Man, I wants me one!
@sprueVerse
@sprueVerse 8 ай бұрын
They tend to break often. The sonic action is really doing all the cutting.

Normally a ship docks so the Port is on the left, therefore PORT. That's why in England they drive on the left. So if you're on the docked ship to the left is the brightly lit port so you can't see very many stars, but if you go to the right side of the ship which theoretically, face the Sea, and the main body of the ship behind you to block the city lights the sky lights up with stars, Hence STARBOARD. Or at lleas that's what I was told.

Not having yet watched the entire build or read all the comments, forgive me if this has been mentioned: Could one insert strong magnets in the bottom of the speeder shell and ground base which would repulse each other effecting some levitation? Would be interesting to try.

Dry Brush: Lt. Cmdr. Lori has provided her expertise as a painter. She asserts that dry brush brushes are "Mop" brushes. Indeed, Hobby Lobby beas that out. Now, the big question: Since Mop Brush = Makeup Brush, do you spirit away Ms. spruVerse's makeup brushes or buy 'em? I've been strictly forbidden from poking around in the makeup bag...

I'm curious you keep saying pedals plural.....why would a landspeeder have more than 1 pedal cant really brake something that has no contact with the ground????
@sprueVerse
@sprueVerse 8 ай бұрын
I’m not sure why it has pedals - but the x-34 had pedals - they could have just been for show or they had some other purpose associated with steering the speeder - either way the production team put pedals in the speeder!

I'm sorry, excuse me; did you say something about oil paintings of landscapes? What... WHAT?? Are you now saying that we should stop what we are building, stand up from our work benches and go outside to look at... things? Really! So give us a look-see at these oil paintings-- I'm curious. Best port n' starboard mnemonic-- the word left has 4 letters and is shorter than right which has 5... so the long word, "starboard" is for the short word, left... etc.! Love the gak-work-- it's true that you cannot stuff enough crap into an engine space. The real thing is such a mess. At 1:26:18, old bean-- you're showing a bit of yard debris... looks good, but ruins an otherwise impeccable haircut. Those leaf blowers get everything everywhere (--all at once!)-- speaking of those, your mike picks up yourself just fine. Even over the Proxon drill-- nice directionality. The end results are pretty darn good. The Landspeeder series seems to be very right-hand drive... I would add some torn up seat material (masking tape gag) and foot scrapes. My big thought about the base would have been to make it upside-down, to get some more surface area and have it all float a bit. I presume the vaporator is brand new... ? Looking really good-- now where to put it... I have two words to assist in the mortal combat over display space--- "air rights." Time for a second story addition!
