Observe how the color in her face changes towards the end; she gets progressively red-faced as her rage builds. What a sublime actress - it's no wonder she won the triple crown of awards for television acting (Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild and Emmys) for her work on TXF...and all for a 'sci-fi' show, no less...that's quite a feat!

Simply great. In this episode it was the first time Mulder called her "Dana". ;-)

I love episodes where we get to see how protective Mulder and Scully are of each other. They don't mess around where one another's safety is concerned. What's even more amazing is that this is still only half way through season 1. They become fiercely attached to one another very quickly.

I like how her voice trembles just a bit on the word "dies"! By the way, Gillian would get so into these Scully rages, she would accidently swear in the bloopers at the enemy, I'm surprised she didn't call him a sack of shite by mistake,lol.

He fears her even more than Saruman

One of the most explosive dialogues and best-acted scenes by her in the entire series. I knew someone had to have posted this scene on KZfaq! Great episode.

Her emphasis on "bitch" - you gotta love that woman 😍 pretty sure the one and only time we hear Scully actually say this word.

I'm watching x-files again, like 5'th time in my life, currently in session 4. This is the best TV show ever!!! Love every second of them. P.S. Badass Scully is my absolut crush))))

Wish this had been the whole scene. What Brad Dourif does with the rest of this sequence, combined with what we saw from Gillian Anderson, made it maybe the best acted scene in the history of television imho.

One of the most memorable moments (along with the Tooms episodes, the Roland episode among others) from season 1 for me. I watched Gillian in The Fall as well and found her to be just as enjoyable. Brad Dourif is a fantastic actor too.

Fierce protective Scully is awesome to behold.

This scene had a wow factor on me.

Watching this back to back with the gag reel iconic. They are all so good at what they do and having so much fun doing it.

just watched all season 1 and this by far my favourite scene.. i noticed however that the scene is completely oppoisite.. scully is looking to her right near the end here...but the vid i watch she looked to her left at the end
