LMAO Carter is completely out of touch. Did you know that the scene in the pilot where Scully disrobes in panic in Mulder's hotel room and throws herself into his arms in relief was put there specifically to show the audience that nothing was going to happen between them, and they were totally platonic. talk about delusional, because David/Gillian just went ahead and did their thing which is why we love them for it. FYI Carter the way Mulder reacts with such naked affection and sweetness with scared 'pilot' Scully and then she lies on his bed while he pours out his heart to a woman he barely knows, and then they giggle and lean into each other in the rain shows that the bond is immediate and special, and they are totally going to fall in love. Carter remains clueless.

There is no shame. I'm new to the X-files and even I'm getting giddy watching these scenes. I like how subtle their relationship was despite the fact that their chemistry burned brighter than the sun.

I started finished watching the XFiles about 1 year ago, so I'm a new watcher. But I don't understand, why are you even talking about shame? David and Gillian made this show, the best. I love how this is a relationship based on rispect and pure love. Not like modern TV series in which the two principal characters bang on the first 2 minutes of the pilot. Between them, it's all, you know, implied, like "i know you know, you know i know", it's all beyond words. So a simpy scene like this, can make a real fan happy.

Mulder's only possible wish is to help Scully have a baby. Maybe Jenniyeh told him it WILL naturally happen and so Mulder freed her. The look in his eyes is like: "I know something amazing!" Why having a child is the central point between them? Because for Mulder it means redefining the absence of his sister, of his father, of his family life. For Scully, it is a chance to live a normal life with Mulder.

His final wish was setting the genie free. She became human.

I recently rewatched the series and even though I’d seen the episode before I STILL thought his final wish would be about Scully. Nothing dirty, just them spending time together or sailing off into the sunset for a brief period of time. I’d already seen the episode and still “remembered” him wishing for a moment with her. Must have been my wishful shipper thinking but we still got a wonderful, relaxed moment between them.

Faded Neverland Totally know what you mean! Mulder and Scully have always had a special connection and it's platonic love (as in, deep and romantic bond without anything dirty).

I agree and the comments under this are a perfect explanation of how twisted the fandom has become during the last 15 or so years. "The X-files" was always about the subtle, the chemistry and the gentleness of their relationship. The respect and the careful way they can just be with each other. Even when they were in a relationship later on. I think that's a big part of why "season" 10 and 11 just absolutely didn't work anymore. That wasn't Mulder and Scully.
