Rick and Chris react to Marvel's X-Men '97 Episode 7 titled "Bright Eyes". We loved the original series, watching it every week as young kids. Now we get to enjoy the follow up to that series with this one and have loved it so far. Grab a drink or a snack and let do this!!!!!

The villain is Bastion, who is literally a Master Mold and Nimrod fused together into a human-like entity. Basically indestructible so it’ll be interesting to see how they deal with him.

I pretty sure they are setting up Onslaught for season 2 as we see him talk about Xaiver and we see him holding Magneto prisoner. Onslaught is a combination of the consciousnesses of two powerful mutants, Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto, and has superior physical and mental powers. He can also possess the minds of others and use their bodies as his own. We could see the Avengers team up with the xmen or even see the avengers mind controlled to fight the xmen, anything is possible.

When Rogue dropped him, I’m thinking the others froze in disbelief that a teammate would openly kill a person. That’s the only reason I can come up of no one saving him.

It takes only a few seconds to fall that far. It takes seconds to react when you are not anticipating a situation, more if you’re socked. He was “dead” before they fully comprehended what happened. There just wasn’t enough time. Had Jean anticipated the drop she may have been able to catch him with her telekinesis.

@@FlixCreEightRBecause now there are probably going to be some serious consequences coming their way as a result of Rogue’s actions. Consequences the government might not be able to help them with. Rogue already broke into a government facility and wrecked their stuff.

The people in Gambits funeral were Gambits family, his wife, brother & and members of the gang of thieves. They appeared in one episode of the OG show. Also Bastion is a very dangerous and powerful villain, he’s a fusion of Master Mold and Nimrod, evolving into a human like sentinel. Also Captain America appeared in Season 5 of the OG show, it was a flashback episode with him and Wolverine in word war 2.

Notice that when Bastion makes the dig about the "villains of old" failing to defeat the X-Men, Sinister says that Bastion was one of those villains. He's essentially an upgraded Nimrod, formed when Nimrod merged with a Master Mold and was shoved through time. Because he looks and sounds human, he's a master manipulator and infiltrator. However, he has the full powers of Nimrod, and so is nigh indestructible and very powerful in combat. Further, he lives up to his Master Mold half by creating the Prime Sentinels that you saw with Trask, essentially infecting people with nano-machines that turn them into sentinels in the right circumstance. Dude is an absolute menace.

Morph is still alive, you can see him/them standing very much alive beside Wolverine after Cable shows up.

Villain's name is Bastion. He's basically Nimrod and Master Mold that's been through time. Apparently, this guy's the mutant hating master of Sentinels. From what I heard, he takes hating mutants to a whole new level.

But you blamed John Walker for doing the same thing tho. It's even worse for Rogue because John Walker's friend was killed only a couple minutes before and the guy he killed was a supersoldier who was still a potential threat while Trask here was a broken man no threat to anyone until Bastion turned him into one.

There were people out there who saw that scene and were displeased, saying, "MCU Steve would have helped Rogue", but I was nodding my head in agreement with the writers because this was exactly what I imagined 90s Cap from the comics would say and do. The Avengers still answered to the government back then. In a way, they had a bigger responsibility to their country then the MCU Avengers do. That said, I hope this is the last time the Avengers or any other non-X-Men heroes make an appearance. The X-Men does not need help from other heroes. Mutants can take care of their own and solve their own problems, unless the entire world is in peril.

Wrong. It would have at least mattered to Rogue and the maintaining of her super heroic character. Her emotional state is understandable, but your defense of it is not. It's also painfully funny considering Rogue out of all the X-Men had an entire episode devoted to her stealing Ms. Marvel's abilities where the theme of the episode was that revenge was not right, and Ms. Marvel had at least as much reason to feel angry at Rogue as Rogue does for Trask.

I think the writers on X-Men 97 lucked out with Morph. People love saying how dark 97 is compared to TAS, but they either forgot or didn't know that Morph was an original character created just to die in the very first episode of TAS and was supposed to remain dead forever. He was only brought back to life because kids love him so much and the studios pushed for it. Anyway, I said lucked out since it's only because Morph is still around that the 97 writers can include so many fun cameos by having Morph shapeshift into them. Also, since he didn't originate from the comics, the 97 writers were free to just go ahead and increase his abilities and turn him into someone who can mimic other people's physical powers, even though he couldn't do that in TAS. In my own head canon, I imagine that Sinister tinkled with his genes and tweaked it a little when he was brainwashing him way back when.

He did mimic physical powers in the original series. He changed into Sasquatch from Alpha Flight in order to rip a sentinel's head off and also turned into Angel to save a falling Jean. He changed into Omega Red and was able to use his tendrils to bring down some sentinels. He also morphed into Longshot to mimic his agility, and even changed into Sabertooth to mimic his strength as well as a panther and a rhino to take down Wolverine. He also changed into Wolverine complete with his claws, minus the adamantium of course. Go back and watch episode 3 called "Whatever It Takes" from season 2, and episode 3 called "Courage" from season 4

Morph is pretty interesting. I fear that Sinister has left a ticking time bomb or two in him for use at the worst possible time. Given the tone of the show I'm sure it'll be tragic and awful.
