Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down X-men 97.

The Episode 10 finale is now here and its packed with easter eggs, hidden details and a lot of things for the future. The series has come back with a bang and in this video we're gonna break it all down. Beau Demayo has also finished Season 2 and you can see the seeds being set for whats about to come. I will of course talk about that all later on but we're gonna start at the beginning of the episode. Last week ended with Magneto tearing out the adamantium from Wolverines bodies which was ripped right out of the pages of X-men 25. That was part of the fatal attractions event and it eventually led into Onsalught being created.
Back on Earth Bastion was beating the heroes with Cable being turned against his Jean who his mother was of course cloned from.
It all kicked off and that takes us into the title sequence.

Now we do get an added shot in the intro with Magneto and Charles working together. This comes from their time together as friends in the original series which explored their backstory. That was enter magneto which we see this scene pulling from. This is picked up immediately in the opening of the entry in which we seemingly see them in Vietnam discussing mutants. Both have opposing views with Professor X believing that they'll be accepted whereas Magneto clearly believes its best to hide. However the pair reveal the truth to each other. Theres lots of real world metaphors here with the idea of prejudice being the main talking point.

hey @heavyspoilers , I think the xmen were scattered through time because of Bastion who is somehow still alive and responsible of the" temporal explosion " because he absorbed Cable's arm ...and cable's arm had that AI assistant cube capable of time traveling

The lead writer on twitter confirmed the Avengers were dealing with the Kree Shi’ar war, something they did in the comics in the 90s during Operation Galactic Storm. That’s why Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are listed off World.

What a phenomenal season of Marvel Television! This season, finale was absolutely incredible, and it really had it all! Great writing, jaw-dropping animation, masterful music, amazing voice acting performances, brilliant pacing, respect for the original source material/90s animated series, and lots of fun/really cool Cameos and Easter Eggs for the fans to enjoy! I'm so excited/hyped for Season 2 and will be counting down the days! This finale and the whole season get a 10/10 from me!

Took the words right out of my mouth. An Absolutely stunning season of marvel TV the animation the writing , the way multiple comic story lines have been blended together and re imagined. The musical score. The voice acting. The story telling. Everything was as close to perfection as it could be. And some spot on comic book panels recreated. I found myself shouting at the TV on multiple occasions. I cheered I gasped I my have possible shed a tear. (Or 2) 10/10 Roll on X-Men 97 season 2

Under Magneto's known aliases, it mentions David Hemblen (the original voice actor from TAS), and Ian M and Michael F - the two actors who portrayed the character in the Fox films. It's also remarkable how much homework they did in listing Erik Lehnsherr as an alias and not his real name, as he was known only as Magnus up until the 90's before being assigned a "real" name that was since retconned as a German alias.

Considering En Sabbah Nur was still a raider when the X-men found him, I think this was during the reign of Pharaoh Rama Tut (aka Kang). Since Rama Tut has time travel technology, I think that storyline will have the X-men join En Sabbah Nur to fight Rama Tut and use his tech to return to their time, inadvertedly aiding En Sabbah Nur's ascension into becoming Apocalypse. How ironic would it be, that in order to save themselves they'll end up creating their worst enemy.

This is how you wrap up a season. Excellent story telling. If this finale didn't hit you in the feels, start all over from X-Men 96', SE1 EP1. If you've done that and still feel nothing, repeat the previous instruction until the feels are felt. But I doubt you felt nothing. Wooow what an episode!

That definitely is not Dr. Cecilia Reyes(from the OZT arc) but Alisa Tager/Cipher(from Young X-men) not to be confused with Doug Ramsey/Cypher(from New Mutants). Her phasing through Exodus should have been the first hint... and speaking of Exodus! The news report talking about Creed beating Kelly in the polls also stated mutant extremists waiting for the second coming of Magneto, so we'll probably see a lot from him and his acolyte cult.

You made an error. THAT is not Mary Jane. That is the clone MJ. MJ died in 96, and Peter found the clone in 97. The cloned died in 97 and Spiderman and Maddame web went looking for her in 98 edit: I was 100% wrong as I now realise this episode took place in the 1st quarter of 1998, since Christmas 97 happened episodes/months ago.
