Bolivar Trask’s actions were done under duress. From what it sounds, Trask had no idea what Sinister wanted with his machines until it was too late. Even if. Trask killed himself, Sinister probably would revive him against his will anyways. He just needs his DNA.

I still wonder if it’s actually Nimrod assuming Mr.Sinister’s form as a fall guy and somehow he remained in the 50s after One Man’s Worth. If so,he could have manipulated all sorts of events to occur in order to get the outcome he wants.
