I'm an atheist but that didn't get in the way of me enjoying the heck out of this episode. Nightcrawler is such a fascinating character. An unholy looking man who found comfort with himself through faith despite others of the same beliefs hating him for his appearance and abilities. I appreciate how nuanced it was, especially for the 90s. Believing in the same God didn't make the others justified in their prejudice. All men and women alike are capable of being the monsters they think they're fighting against no matter what they believe in. I also LOVE how he lightened Wolverine's bitterness. Logan has been delt a bad hand but Nightcrawler made it possible for him to finally have a moment of peace and come to appreciate life in a more positive way.

I think this scene shows why Wolverine and Nightcrawler are such good friends. His respect for Nightcrawler was due to him being a good man who rejects violence and someone Logan could come to for consul. Logan may be violent in nature, but he’s ashamed of it, due to how death he witnessed, weather by old age or his own hand. Unlike most mutants, Wolverine is not ashamed of being a mutant, just that he was a killer and wants to have life outside of the blood shed.

I hate how even mutants don’t even consider themselves human. I’m not a religious man, but they were all born the same way. Despite the x-gene, they are all human children of god in Nightcrawler’s eyes.

Even though I'm an atheist I believe that if we have more people like Nightcrawler character in the real world religion can be used as a Force for good

That was God's purpose but instead humans used it out if context and made excuses for horrible things such as slavery, hate crimes and more. As a Christian I must say we shouldn't follow Christianity or religion but Jesus Christ, and his morals and ethics. He taught us to love all those around us, whether they're white, black, gay, straight, Christian, Muslim and, etc. because only then can we truly understand Christ.

You can't claim to follow Jesus but then refuse to keep his commandments and laws.@@stevbrh
