DC-3s are always my favs in the sims. I got the other VSKYLABS version and it's tons of fun. I wish there was more interest in older aircraft because that's where you get some of the more unique actual flying. The freeware B-29 is also an example with a very unique control setup since it predates the modern standards. I know for landing once the tail wheel goes down you have to use differential braking or thrust because the rudder is no longer in the air stream. If you keep the engines running after touchdown you can keep the tail up for a bit longer so you can center yourself with rudder. A real lovely orchestra of maneuvers with this thing.

I learned to fly at Lantana just 5 miles south of PBI. After finishing my commercial multi-engine, I got a job at Signature at PBI. Many fond memories of this airport. While I worked there, Missionary Flights was still operating 3 DC-3 parked on the southwest ramp, the FBO was called Galaxy back then. Thank you for this video. Quite nostalgic.

I just got this plane. Have been flying the VSL one for a while and like it a lot. Main complaint is the dark cockpit and small difficult to read instruments. Makes accurate power settings difficult as well as seeing altitude. I like the more realistic engine start. Seems to fly OK. So far I much prefer the VSL. I had a private pilot license with tail dragger time back in my youth. The VSL feels more authentic.

Thank you for a very informative review. Dont know if anyone else shares the same problem. STARTING the DC3v2.... Following the checklist, and POH info... after two days owning this lovely aircraft, I still cannot start her.... I am missing something... please share any tips which suppliment the given start checklist.. thanks

Well the cockpit looks great when you look down, but when you look back up to wind screen level it’s so dark I can’t read a thing, how on earth is anybody suppose to fly when you can’t read your gauges, etc? Does the Reality XP12 Enhancer work well with this addon to brighten up the instrument panel?

Nice aircraft but the cockpit is so dark, it’s hard to see the instruments, I hope they improve this in the future. Or perhaps I’m missing some of the lighting controls? One more thing, I flew the DC-3 in real life and it’s much easier to taxi than what is simulated here, they really need to fix this, it’s simply not realistic and an immersion killer for me
