INFO ON EGOSOFT: THE CREATORS OF THE X GAMES SERIES AND THE LORE BEHIND THEM.
Egosoft GmbH (formerly Ego Software) is a German video game developer based in Würselen, Germany. The company was founded by Bernd Lehahn in Herzogenrath in June 1988 as Ego Software, and incorporated as Egosoft GbR in 1990, though still trading as Ego Software until 1998. In 2006, the company re-incoprorated as Egosoft GmbH.
Egosoft is best known for its X series of video games, a series of space simulator games noted for combining open-ended gameplay, dynamic market-driven economy and compelling storyline. The series began in 1999 with X: Beyond the Frontier. Since then, the series has expanded with three sequels and three standalone expansions; the latest being X4: Foundations, released November 30, 2018.

Started playing this series at X2, never did get a good picture bout the lore...and im kinda curious what happend lorewise in x-stillbirth.

I love this series, and it is great to get some of that lore from you that X4 has been missing. I really hope they add some lore into the game with patches or expansions because that is really one of the things that make the x universe so appealing to me. But until then, I'll gladly watch these. :)

A little flaw. You say 2115, but text on video says -2015-, and I frantically try to remember if I missed something abour space exploration and jump gate deployment. :) Otherwise fine job. Cheers!

I propose a different reason for Terraformers turning into Xenons. They met Khaak. So they had to choose if they maintained the original (not bugged) directive of non-violence towards aliens, which will clearly lead to the wipe-out of entire Terraformer Fleet giving it enough time (and human race, probably, but this was not a concern for Terafformers then) or if they disregarded a directive and kept working for their main purpose: Terraforming as many planets as possible (does not matter for whom, but this is the very purpose of the Terraformer Fleet existence). After the first contacts with Khaak it was clear that it is not possible to both avoid disturbing the aliens and continue terraforming or even continue existing. So, without any delayed or bugged update from Earth, the Terraformer Fleet community of artificial minds decided the non-violent directive is the one of the 2 conflicting instructions that must be erased from databanks. And the Terraformer Fleet kept on doing what it was made to do. Terraform planets, self-replicate and remove any obstacle in their mission with maximum efficiency. Sometimes maximum efficiency meant developing and employing Gamma Photon Cannons, sometimes Alpha PPCs, sometimes a combination of others ... When some of the new Terraformer ships met Earth and tried to terraform it again, a long time had passed since no ship in the entire Terraformer Fleet had any memory of any directive preventing Terraformers from terraforming an already inhabited planet at all. And the idea of obeying to orders coming on radio from (human) aliens would have probably made them laugh if they could have laughed.

I have a theory about the Teladi. Their entire Philosophy, revolves around the acquisition of wealth. Profiteering permeates every aspect of their lives. They live for it. Thing is, just because their culture is stiped in greed, profit and wealth acquisition, it does not mean it is something natural to them. After hundreds of years chasing money, it's all they know and all they've learned. They are not really capable of anything else. A Teladi only loves money, so they don't know how to love a friend or a partner. And since most other Teladi are like this, and other races don't live that long or are compatible, he can never find meaning in a family or comradery even if he was able to look past profits. It's a sad vicious cycle. A Teladi only wants to know new ways to make money. Knowledge and discovery are therefore only serve money making. Where a human or a boron who thirst for knowledge and discovery for their sake(and would feel blessed if they could live that long), It is a drab endeavor for the Teladi, an obstacle to more profit. So A teladi Doesn't know how to feel excitement for scientific discovery and knowledge. So whether they realize all these things or not, their life loses meaning and they lose their will to live.

Hate to break your theory, but the teladi we meet in space are the most greedy, hence why they went to space in the first place to gain profit. The other teladi tgay stay planetside are the other professions like scientists and others. Also, fun fact is that teladi eggs are born female if not fertilized by a male, and so generally males do not leave the surface of planets where they are able to fertilize eggs and have a stable population of males and females. The teladi we meet are like 90% female.

Love the video ! But what is that ship doing with the station where smaller ships were being exchanged between the two ? Always wondered what the tiny in / out ports where on stations

Noodle - They are cargo drones transferring wares to and from the ship :)

@@TheRealNoodle Transfer cargo via drone between my transporters and stations ? Seems far more convenient than landing. Or, is it as I thought a couple of moments ago, that only large ships (L-class) can transfer wares via drone ? Huge thanks for your help here.

Noodle - It is what you thought, only L-class ships or above can do this, as far as i know :)
