Logan has heightened senses, that’s how he heard the soldiers Remember that scene in a bar where Mystique injected that security guard with something? It was iron You can see the mind control juice mark on Scott’s neck when he first pops up to attack The mutation didn’t take place there, the adamantium bonding did. His mutation is his healing factor, heightened senses, and claws of bone. The former is what allowed him to survive the bonding process, which they mentioned in the first Well she could drown but it wasn’t that deep She did come out of the mind control when she was given the adamantium injection In the comics he definitely didn’t volunteer, he was kidnapped, but these movies don’t follow the comics with 100% accuracy. Oh if you knew comics, you would be 100% convinced Jean’s not dead

_Well she could drown but it wasn't that deep_ Dude, she just had about every orifice filled with quickly-hardening adamantium both weighing her down and restricting her movements, as well as also filling up and/or melting her vital organs (including her lungs, heart, etc.). She's not gonna simply sit up or wade out of that pool. Her healing factor _might_ be able to briefly hold off the metal's toxic effects, but it ain't clearing all that metal out of her lungs, blood vessels, etc. before she suffocates (if her organs weren't outright melted away).

Rewatching these og X-Men films really solidifies how underrated this series really is. I can honestly say I still rate them as some of the best comic book movies ever made. The casting was perfect for so many of the characters to the point where I have difficulty seeing them reprised in reboots. The series atmosphere had subtle humor to provide moments of levity while maintaining a more serious mature tone than what we've come to expect from most MCU films.

I was amused by the fact that when Ian McKellen first appears in this movie, his eyes are encircled by the neon cherries in the background. Wolverine was always a mutant. Stryker experimented on him and added the adamantium to his skeleton, which Wolverine survived because of his healing factor. It stands to reason Lady Deathstrike would have a similar healing factor, as her claws are also adamantium.

Cyclops' optic blasts coooouuullld kill depending on the location of the body it hits, and intensity with which he decides to shoot. He just tends to disarm people or knock them down with it in the movies because he's a bit of a boy scout, lol. A common misconception about his power is that it's a laser or fire-based energy, when in fact it hits with concussive force. So getting hit with his optic blast is more akin to getting physically hit, as though you were punched or kicked, and he uses the dial on the side of his visor to adjust the focal width of the blast and intensity of the beam. Though liking the original more than X2...gotta say that's the first time I've heard that opinion.

I know this video is a year old and I don't know how much you know, Mary, but I'll try to explain the Jean thing: In the comics, there was a storyline was known as "The Phoenix Saga" space shuttle/station incident the X-Men were involved with and Jean risked her life to ensure a safe landing, but she survived do to as cosmic entity known as the Phoenix, or Phoenix Force, bonding with Jean, elevating her to a higher power than she was. As she was coming to terms with it, she and the X-Men got involved in the galactic race known as the Shi'ar (Shee-are) Empire fighting for control of an ancient relic known as the M'Kraan (Em-krawn) Crystal. Afterward was a sequel called "The Dark Phoenix Saga" where an evil group called the Hellfire Club, run by the Inner Circle, tried to possess the Phoenix by mentally breaking Jean's mind so the Phoenix would take control and willingly join them, but they had no idea how powerful Phoenix REALLY was and it devastated the club and nearly killed the X-Men, it even destroyed a star system, forcing the Shi'ar to return and try to destroy the Phoenix, the X-Men naturally try to protect Jean despite the danger she poses. X-2 tried to hint at the Phoenix Saga for X-3 with Jean's body glowing when she pushed herself, unfortunately the movies afterward did a poor job adapting theses two famous storylines. X-3 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the latter I still haven't and will not see, both made the same mistake of jumping right to the Dark Phoenix Saga without first adapting the Phoenix Saga. You can't jump right to Dark Phoenix without first adapting Phoenix, but Hollywood did that and both movies failed because of that. Regardless, I hoped you enjoyed the X-Men films. I still enjoy X-1 and X-2 since I grew up watching the 90s X-Men cartoon and 2000s cartoon X-Men: Evolution. Definitely check them out when you get the chance.

Jean Sacrifice comes of her fear not controlling her power. She was gettinh aware how powerful her power was, and she knew she may not control it or accidently kill someone. Scott even mention that before the Libertity Statue incident, Jean required all of her power to lift a book. But after that incident, a simple nighmare made her shake their room. The "oh My God" line to the second missel that hit the plane, was because Jean realized how powerfull she was becoming. But her ultimate decision was when she was holding Scott blast... she almost kill him, and set the dam to crack almost killing everyone. Jean knew she was becoming too dangerous. Thats why she says throw professor "its the only way". Jean was refeering to herself! Scott and Jean relantioship is more deep then love. They are somehow psychic connect to a point that their love is so huge and behond any human concept (the movies dont explore this) so thats why Scott felt so alone in end. His "mind" die a little with Jean, so he is alone! Jean and Wolverine relantionship is more physically. She feels sexuality attract to him, and their love come from that!

She is the vengeful daughter of the man who created the bonding process for Adamantium. Wolverine and Sabretooth were on the black ops team that stole the research that was later used to bond the metal to Logan's bones. In the comics, she submitted to cybernetic augmentation to empower her to face him in battle.

Not many know, but Nightcrawler is one of the children of Azazel (introduced in First Class) who in fact is a demon. Azazel’s character was not explored in these films but he was a very powerful villain in the X-Men series. Shame how he died offscreen later in the series.

Mary, in the comics the Love triangle gets super convoluted. Jean gets a clone, Maddy Prior, who becomes Dark Jean. But, then Jean also comes back and changes her hero name from Marvel Girl to Phoenix. And you know what Phoenixes do ... rise from thier ashes! Maybe you caught that tell tale orange-red glow at her end.
