Dan you are the best at interviewing athletes and champions. You will be missed when you retire.

So so proud of Xander. Been a long time coming. The critics have been silenced. He shattered or tied records. THE GREATEST SCORING TOURNAMENT EVERY PLAYED!

So happy for Xander! He seems like a nice young man. Congrats!!

Very crass of Dan bringing up Tiger's 14 wins and Jack's 18. Let the man breathe and enjoy his win!
@user-hi8pe7ms7jАй бұрын
In the context in which Dan asked the question--and I heard it live--that's not what I thought. Dan was putting what Jack and Tiger did in the perspective of how unimaginable it all is.

Dan was more saying how hard it is to win a major for how good Xander or anyone is

If I were a top golfer or athlete and they asked why I haven't won a major or championship I'd ask if they won a Pulitzer(of course knowing who has and who hasn't). Mic drop... Xander reaching over and hugging the trophy was a perfect response.

This year Xander has a T2 at THE PLAYERS; 8th at The Masters and now a win at the PGA. He's in his 9th year as a Pro. Perhaps this is his time?

Some pretty cringy interview questions by DP. Asking about how the winner receives the paycheck (direct deposit)? It's almost like he didn't have some questions prepared and just flew by the seat of his pants.
@shaneg1451Ай бұрын
For sure some cringe… and making him feel like he’s something less for only having one compared to TW and JN.
@grasshopper62Ай бұрын
And not knowing it wasn't his caddie that missed Saturday.
@bjmora9612Ай бұрын
I don't think that was cringey - the point REALLY is that having multiple majors is NOT the norm, but the Tiger effect = resets the expectation.
@kathypomeroy6179Ай бұрын
Ya....It was cringy. His paycheck is nunya - nunya business!
@mikerogers1949Ай бұрын
Yeah but it didn’t throw him off Was very organic though. Seems like they connected nicely. BUT zero preparation confused him with Scheffler

Xander “my Dad is in Hawaii”, Zander wins the Wanamaker. Zander’s Dad did not get the father of the year trophy.
@oahujuniorgolfassociationc6656Ай бұрын
Xander would disagree. They worked how whole life together. We don’t know why he wasn’t there. But Xander said they were both crying so much he had to hang up the phone. IMHO Xander’s pops is the dad of the year from his body of work w Xander.

I think there was some backlash from the PGA regarding his dad after he sort of ran his mouth at the Ryder Cup. Could be they asked he stay away from events for a while. Not claiming it as fact, however.
