Ai so since I was trying to figure this out myself I'll put what (from what I've seen from other videos) you have to do is this. Get a slim hard drive like the one in this video. After that there are two ways of correctly formatting it. Either connect it to a pc and format it as fat 32 (this method I'm not too sure about but you can try it out. Or you can get a USB to sata connector and then connect that slim hard drive to the xbox as an external hard drive. This will give you the option to have the xbox format the Hard drive itself. After you've done either of these steps then follow this video and put the slim hard drive into the hdd enclosure. I can't guarantee that it will work but it's worth a shot if you really need the storage.

I've tried it with a USB to SATA Connector, however the Xbox doesn't recognize anything unless it's formatted as FAT32 which in this case is not possible for hard drives

@@edoo1 you can format a hard drive to FAT32 using the windows command prompt or with a partition manager software

You can’t put any drive in there and it will work. Put up a vid when you plugged it back into the Xbox.

Is there any formatting involved? Can you run it same as oem? I heard microsoft was banning consoles for not using official Xbox drives.

They don't ban anything anymore They don't care about x360 anymore But the real problem is x360 was designed to only work with official Microsoft HDDs only.

Most disks come preformatted, but you can format them in the settings.

No it's not Microsoft blocked the ability to replace your drive for another Only official Microsoft HDDs will work On PS3 you can use anything you want even a SSD

@@at-cj2iy Because it works on a PS3, doesn't mean it will work on an Xbox 360. They're totally different machines, with totally different firmware. Sony allow you to use any drive you like, but Microsoft don't.
