How many players will Forza Horizon 5 have by the end of week 1? And when will Xbox acquire their next studio... will it be this year or next?

I just hope all of the devs for FH5 get a nice fat bonus for the hard work they did

Literally the best car game ever, you can do whatever driving you want. Whether that be street racing, rallying, or driving a truck out of a plane, Forza is everything a gamer wants in a racing game

The First 10 Mins of FOrza 5 was the Most intense beginning of any game I have ever played..

Forza Horizon 5 is a masterpiece 💚🔥 man what a time to be alive, especially if you are an XBOX fan. I love XBOX!💚💚🔥🔥 the future is looking brighter than ever.

It’s great to see them get their props but tbh this shouldn’t be a surprise anyone that’s been paying attention to Xbox objectively these past two years. People like crap gamer will tell you that “Xbox can’t get out games” but this is what happens when you give these teams time and funding. Double fine was given time, psyconauts 2 is quality. Playground was given two extra years for Forza 5 than Forza 4, it’s the highest rated game this year. 343 was given extra time and halo infinite is looking promising. The coalition has been given the time to wait and learn UE5 so gears 6 can be its best. All this also carries over to the other big teams and 3rd partnerships at Xbox as well. Get use to this, Xbox is Quality AND Quantity.

This just makes me even more excited for the next Forza Motorsort title, since it'll be a current-gen exclusive. Also, anyone that considers Forza as a "niche" franchise is just wrong. Motorsport was already incredibly popular, and the Horizon series only expanded it.

NGL, I wished Game Pass had a few more puzzle games like QUBE, Talos Principle, like when they added Superliminal etc. They're fun to challenge your problem solving. They're cool to just chill out.

Didn't realise this was out and I got a xsx and lg cx. Off to download it. Wish xbox would release blur racing from xbox 360 via backwards compat.

From what phil has said during the year it seems like 2024 imo is gonna be when there is gonna be a ton of acquisitions. Based on the idea they are rolling out and working with studios to see if they "fit the eco system" either we are gonna get 2023 or early 2024 releases that will tell if they can work together and come to an agreement about an aquisition.

I’ve been playing Forza horizon 4 since I got the Xbox series x last Christmas. It’s one of the reasons I bought an Xbox. And now with 5 my breath is just taking away at how big the world is and how beautiful it is. Sometimes I just turn on the radio and drive around. Sometimes I put on a podcast and go off-roading. I love Forza horizon the most but it actually got me into Motorsport as well. I can’t wait to see what Motorsport 8 looks like and what they do with it!

Is there a way I can play the start up song on forza while I’m driving ? I like that song add to the game for me for some reason lol

Driving through the sand storm in the beginning of Forza blew me away. 10 hrs deep and looking forward to the weekend.

I don't think is just about "Kids games", I think is more about social games, casual meaning that you can just play while waiting in line at the bank, or play for half hour one day, then get your friends to play with you.

I want microsoft to give banjo or viva pinata to the coalition and see what they can come up with. I think viva pinata would be a perfect casual game that they could support for years. Forza is amazing by the way. Im about 10 hours in and im having a blast.

Great video Rand. I agree that FH5 should be at least nominated for GOTY. The niche definition does fit the Forza franchise and the critics should know that. For GOTY critics should consider and include all types of games, not just a certain genre. I am having a blast with FH5, so much to see and do and it is absolutely stunning at 4k 60fps on my Series X. Amazing player experience numbers for FH5 at 4.5 mil👍 With Microsoft wanting to get more E rated content, perhaps if they acquire Crystal Dynamics, a Gex reboot can happen? Thanks Rand

It's amazing how quickly things change, 12 months ago, the Series consoles came out and while the hardware was applauded the software line-up was criticised, the 'Xbox has no games' narrative going strong as ever, and now a year later and we are looking at a Xbox brand that's stronger than ever, where it's breaking records for week one engagement, and we are already talking about the next game beating it. Those plans Phil and his team set in motion in 2018 are finally coming together. Loving Horizon 5, though I think I prefer the map of 4, I expect we'll see a spike on Friday and it could reach 10 million by the end of the week. (though can I just say considering FH4 has a player base of 24 Million I don't think it was niche.) I'm happy to hear Xbox are looking to acquire a more casual focused developer, I've been saying for years now they should have bought Sumo Digital but that ship has now sailed, even with WB Games I was thinking Travellers Tales was the best get from that set of studios. There aren't that many developers left for that genre, there is SEGA who have IP's like Sonic and Monkey Ball (but even they use third party for games like Sonic Racing), Playtonic would fit that criteria. Though they could expand Doublefine and Rare and have them work on smaller more fun games. Xbox has said they will give them their own freedom, but I don't see how they couldn't make those teams bigger, allowing them to still make the games they want and have a new team making more casual game, like how Playground expanded, which allowed them to keep making FH and also take on the challenge of making Fable.

I don't even think Halo 'might' launch with more users, I think Halo will definitely launch with more. Especially when it also has the added bonus that the multiplayer is Free to play, I am very excited to see what the user numbers will be. But man, Forza is amazing. I never use photo mode in any game but for this game, I have not stopped.

I would love to see Xbox bring back army of two because that game was so good and now you can’t play it unless you play local because the servers are down but that would be a great game to bring back and maybe make it an exclusive

Only played it a little but H5 seems great. I do miss building up from nothing rather than being some champion from the get go though.

What I want to see is PC games coming to Xbox. And I know not all PC games can be ported correctly or nicely onto consoles, but it could work if done right. I would really like to see my favourite Total War Games on Xbox. Like Rome: Total War, or Medival: Total War.

downloading FH5 right now, somehow forgot to do that in the evening hehe. Gamepass Ultimate is the biggest innovation for gaming in the last decade. It gives players the opportunity to play a huge catalogue of games for "free". Pretty sure in the next years gamepass and the answer of Sony will change the industry for ever

I don't think you'll hear the same groaning you would have heard if Xbox buys a more kid friendly studio now as opposed to 2019. Buying Bethesda fixed what I thought was a major lack of mature, AAA games in the pipeline.

Racing games have been around since the 70s probably and a certainly not niche. They have been around even in basic form from the year dot of gaming. Hell I still have my PS2 gran tourismo box. I think the big 3D world games that have only been possible in modern times are probably more niche. All games have a place on our systems (apart from mobile style micro transaction riddled crap), whether it be walking sims, retro, indie, rpg, fighting, sandbox, fps and even racing games. Anyone remember pole position? Outrun? I used to play these in the arcades. I didn’t play big 3D story driven 3rd person QTE games standing there in a smoke filled den.
