I almost went insane as I struggled with this issue. Fortunately I plugged my headset to my monitor and it worked really great but I knew I had to fix it somehow. I am literally crying right now out of relief and frustration. I’ve been having this audio issue for two years now and nothing has worked to fix it. I’ve bought two new controllers, so many different headsets, and hours of troubleshooting and tutorials just for it not to work. Almost got to the point of just getting a new one, but wow this whole time it was the chat mixer!!! Thank you so much, now I can finally play properly again

I messed with every audio setting I could for half an hour and it didn't fix it but in 5 minutes this showed me I had that chat mixer volume all the up and that was the problem 😂 this is such a relief!

@@cvalxn4704 I found out why on my earphones if one side goes out or theres a malfunction in the circuit in your earphones the Xbox will prevent you from using the mixer option I got a new earphones and it worked

This was correct. It was the chat mixer. The slider was all the way up. I simply moved it toward the middle and the audio came through loud and clear. It’s something I never would have thought of. Good job. 10/10

You are a life saver. This solved my issue. Btw the headset chat mixer is the balance between chat and game sounds. Far right is all chat, no game sounds, far left is all game no chat. The middle is 50/50 of each.

Updated the controller, and where you adjust the audio now is at the bottom right, after pressing the xbox home button

This video is 2 years old and still just as potent. I was in the middle of playing warzone with some buddies and all of a sudden had no game volume or anything through my mic, went through all the settings and couldn't figure anything out. Turned my Xbox on and off, still nothing. Updated everything possible and turns out all that happened was the headset chat mixer somehow turned all the way up to the right. I went one click to the left and presto, everything's good

THANK YOU!!!! I had been messing around for a half hour and it was the turning the "mic off and on again" then "move the mixer to the middle" and FINALLY it works!!

I'm a tech guy myself, and I had been looking everywhere in the settings to find a reason why my son was able to hear his party chat without issues, but not his games, or system. I even took the whole controller apart thinking he had damaged it, somehow. How I missed this simple setting is beyond me, but thanks for the vid that saved the day!

@@sofasupastargaming thanks so much dude! Just got minecraft story mode seasons 1/2 and minecraft Xbox one edition because I missed playing og minecraft and I couldn’t hear anything!

Thank you Jesus I been fucking with this forever and didn't realize I changed that setting until you said it. Now that I look at you doing it I can tell that setting is the balance between hearing party chat and game volumes. Thank u

@@sofasupastargaming def earned a sub from me for that. I spent an entire day dealing with this issue. I had just got a new headset thought it was that. Returned it got a diff brand better one. Still had issue. Then went and bought a new remote aince it wasn't an Xbox brand headset it wasn't allow8ng mic on my headset to function at all. So after running back and forth from store a handful of times I finally knew for sure everything was working properly but still wasn't getting any mic response till watching this. It was the last key of thr puzzle I needed. Def earned my sub
