Using a Xbox 360 power supply to replace the Xbox One power supply that has quit functioning.

I fixed my OG Xbox one with my OG Xbox 360 power supply I found in my garage. I did not have shrink wrap so I soldered each wire together and wrapped each soldered wire with electrical tape. Then wrapped all the wires together heavily with electrical tape. Got a green light on the 360 power supply and Xbox one is up and running. Thanks for the video man, it helped out a lot.

My son told me his Xbox One power supply was dead..... KZfaq to the rescue. We had two 360's kicking around (one with the red ring of death). 15 minutes later, he is back up and running. Thanks for the video and the cheap and easy fix. 👍

Works with the 360 slim power supply as well. Plus you wont have the extra 2 wires left over. Great Vid!!!!!

I did the same thing my sons x box one brick died and i had an old 360 brick lying around the garage , I spliced in the same way you did , an it works fine, only I didn't leave out the extra yellow and black I spliced them all together all the yellows and blacks , works fine , good video .

For anyone stuck on the wiring of a aftermarket power supply. The is as follows. Beige 5v (xbox1) to red 5v (360), ps on green (xbox1) to blue ps on (360), red 12v (xbox1) to yellow 12v (360) Black ground to black ground on both.

U can use the 360 power box on the xbox one console , jus remove the black middle piece frm the two silver thing tht goes in the back of the system

x360 adapter to Xbox series s can fire directly into the machine maybe not, because my power supply has a problem

I just cut my cord where it goes into the xbox one and cut the old input plug off the xbox 360 cord and just Sawdered the colored wires back to were they should go and it worked

Worked mint just matches the colors your brick is already fucked..so I went dick out and electrical been over 2 years hasn't burned up yet I just unplug it when I'm not using it.

Hello great video thank you, but I have an issue that I cannot decipher in the video. My xbone wire has one gray wire. But where does the gray xbox one wire connect to in the 360 wires??? I've watched multiple times and just can't see a gray wire anywhere

I have a power supply for the Xbox one but it’s not the Microsoft original one and it only has 4 cables a white , green , black and red what do I connect them to and do I connect all red to that one red ???

You are going to need to take voltage readings off of each of the wires. You will need to find the lead off of the power supply that is sending 12 volts. The 12 volts lead will be the one you connect to the yellow wire. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. If you are not using the power supply I stated in video you are on your own.

It doesn't matter which yellow wire you use. Just make sure that you cap the ones you are not using, so they don't short out

I was going to do this, stripped the 360 and found I would have 4 wires with no place to go. 2 black and 2 yellow. Just seems like a fire hazard.

Alexander D No it doesn't matter which black wires are connected, they are a common ground. Same with yellow they have same voltage.

Big boss91 should work for any Xbox system as long as you able to use original plug for the Xbox you want to use. Remember all an Xbox is, is a gaming computer all computers have power supplies that go out or quit putting out the correct volts and need to be replaced. Worse case scenario is it doesn't work and you might have to buy one.

Well first off if you hve the part tht plugs into the bank of the system , you will need to break the middle part of the power supply jus to put into the back of the xbox one console . It won't work unless you break the plastic part in the middle of the two circle ⭕-⭕ parts. After you remove tht , it will be able to plug into the back of the system .

If you're using a soldering iron then why not just change the bad capacitor on the electrical board??? No splicing cables and then done like a professional from the repair shop.

If you would like to explain how to test each individual component on the board using a muti-meter please feel free to put a video out. Bad capacitor isn't always the cause for the power supply to go bad. Not everyone has the supplies to be able to.

Ok. Even if you don't want to or don't know how to check every single component out on your power board or whatever the term might be for everyone may call it something else. You can still connect your wires to it with your soldering gun instead of cutting into the wires. I used to enjoy cutting wires and splicing them together, but my true question was "Why not just solder and connect the wire to the board?" I don't want to step on toes or anything like that but from what I have noticed anymore is with so much information online going around and as I watch a lot of the videos that are made (some good, some not so good) I appreciate the ones that take the time to explain things and show the way to fix what's being fixed in a professional way. No disrespect intended. I just don't care myself for splicing into electric wires if I have the tool to repair the thing im working on in my hands. It was my bad to assume that was the problem with yours and might have been wrong. Just to try and make what I meant clear. And that it was my mistake and didn't mean to take so long to reply back about it.
