Playing devil's advocate here. Multiple KZfaqrs have taken Current sponsorships and Charlie has taken multiple already and they were seemingly trustworthy. He may not have known the true meaning of their "Paycheck Advance" and didn't do research since he "knew" that they were fine since before. It still doesn't make it "good" and it is most definitely his fault but I heavily doubt he was purposefully scamming his fans and thought this was genuinely good. To be fair though I knew too little on the subject so let me know if I'm entirely wrong or what not.

Advertiser in this case is predatory. "Cash advance" businesses focus on people in life or death situations who will take anything for another chance at getting their lives back in order, but they can't and the last thing they need to do is borrow more money to get out of their scenario when they already don't have enough money coming in to pay their current debts. Please never do a payday loan. This is not a new, cool thing. Payday loans have been around for a long time. You're probably familiar with the "Cash A Check" stores, they give free cups away all the time in my area. Listen, they prey on poor people. You get an advance on your paycheck, but you owe them the money back at a high interest rate. If you can't pay it back, they will garnish your wages until they've recovered their lost money or they will sell your debt to a debt collector. I have heard of people bankrupting themselves with these loans, loosing their homes and cars, etc. Shame on you Charlie, you should know better than to promote some shit like this. These loans ruin lives and they are specifically targeting Americans living paycheck to paycheck. I'm not sure what's worse, the cash a check places or this new app style one that targets young people before we even have any credit to ruin.

It’s nice to know that the sponsor isn’t some predatory loan. Do I think it has some hidden predatory actions hidden? Yeah most likely, but Charlie mentioned in his latest stream that he went over Current with his team and Coffeezilla and the evidence that came back is that it’s not a payday loan. It’s a misunderstanding from everyone here but it is nice to be wary of offers like these since they might really be predatory.

I read thru the terms and conditions of Current’s Advance Pay, and it doesn’t seem like there’s interest, and they also put in there that no one who uses the service has any obligation to repay the amount, they just cut you off from borrowing more. There could be something I missed, but people should probably look into it themselves. Whether or not they’re loan sharks, you should read into to find out for sure, then comment when you actually know. I’m not claiming they are a good sponsor, but I’m just saying, do your own research

Soon enough, every publisher will consolidate all their studios into one big entity to work on the likes of ESO, WoW, COD/Warzone, or mobile games, maximizing MTX output, retention rates, and corporate profit margins. The games industry is being bastardized for a casino, and every industry is likewise suffering under the shareholder economy at an accelerated rate.

That’s 5 percent, where as most credit cards charge you around that per month. Go to a bank and try to get a loan for free with no charge at all. When you buy a car the interest is classically 8-13 percent. Unless you have good credit, “how do I get that?” by carrying a balence on a- you guessed it credit card. Stop pointing out the pot when it’s surrounded by kettles.

I just wanna add more clarification, it's 25$ as a fee, that is NOT your interest, that's a fee to get the loan immediately, versus waiting 1-2 weeks (assuming it's standard waiting time) so while I understand credit cards have interest rates I promise you, payday loans like what he is advertising have rates that range from 20% all the way to 45% I've had to deal with it when I was young and dumb with my money, stay away from payday at all cost!!! 💖💖💖 (Not trying to start any flame war, just spread my warning about it so you can save some money, time and credit score!)

Not a pay day loan but it is a terribly written advert. He's advertising an online banking company called Current. One of their gimmicks is; if you get your employer to pay your salary into your 'Current' bank account, they will pay you x days earlier interest free, and when you actually get paid they will automatically deduct the money, meaning it will never go into your account The reason they offer this sort of deal is that it ensures most of your banking will be with them since this needs to be the account your employer pays your salary into
