Lee Scheffe calls attention to “xenophobia” in his timely discussion that highlights the need for each individual to work to overcome their fears of those who are different from themselves in order to build connections with others. Most of Lee's passions align with his love of the outdoors. He is a member of the LTHS Mountain Biking Team as well as an avid hiker. Lee is also part of the LTHS Debate Team and loves preparing for and competing in tournaments. I hope you can respect me as a person of European descent who wants to preserve the heritage of my own country. That's not xenophobia, it's not hatred. It's normal and natural.

there is something called nationalism and patriotism. nationalism is kinda like xenophobia where you only care about your country above all others. patriotism is when you like your country and you care about it but you also respect all others. youre patriotic

Who else clicked this video hoping that he was talking about extraterrestrial life? Instead seems to only talk about inter-human conflict and prejudice. Not that talking about how people prejudge one another isn't an important conversation. But it is far less interesting than 'Aliens!'

imagine you fear the unknown creatures of the abyss that is called space and deep water which can not be visualised by mere mortal like you and i because let alone visualising we can not even comprehend them, and this man walks in and says "NNNNNNNNOPE, YOU FEAR PEOPLE YOU DONT KNOW CUS THATS WHAT XENOPHOBIA MEANS"

I love xenophobia, although it's not really phobia in many cases, it's sound preference. I believe in the existence of ethno-racial-cultural heritage,…. because I appreciate distinctive populational world diversity. I like distinctive differences of different populations. That makes for the most interesting and deep seated diversity.

Xenophobia is actually Fear of Difference, you fear/hate things that are different from your own, you don't like difference if you're Xenophobic.

So Bon Summers, in your case, it wouldn't be xenophobia. You are the opposite of a xenophobic (that fears, discriminates, disrespects and hurts foreign differences). You are a xenophile. You love cultural diversity and traditions diversity. You appreciate, admire, respect and understand cultural differences and want to preserve these societal distinctions. Therefe, a xenophile.

@@analeticiacastromatos9509 Xenophobia is over-used, typically attacking preferences as 'phobias'. I don't want to live in a global-diverse ethnic society within a nation or municipality, because I prefer more-so homogenous dominant culture societies. That's a preference. It's not a phobia. It's like choosing anything one wants/prefers. I prefer living in 'white society', that's my heritage, that's my culture, that's my identity, that works best for my psychology.

@@analeticiacastromatos9509 Xenophobia is overused, in that people attack/label preferences as phobias. People have racial/ethnic/cultural preferences based on attraction and heritage. That should be respected.
