Ever since making their debut in the Spring of 2022 with their single "Tippy Toes", 7-member multi-lingual girl group XG has been making some big waves all over the world with their incredible rapping skills and inspiring their fans (aka the ALPHAZ) from every walk of life! Their name stands for "Xtraordinary Girls", and Jurin, Chisa, Harvey, Hinata, Juria, Maya, and Cocona are certainly all that and more, with their single "GALZ XYPHER" absolutely blowing up on TikTok. Young Hollywood got the chance to catch up with these talented young ladies to find out a little bit more about them, including when they first started rapping, how they handle performing in English, Korean, AND Japanese, and what's "xtraordinary" about themselves, plus they describe their personal style and reveal their dream collaborations!

So, I love them … but here they sound very rehearsed ; Also. I’m hoping that their agency does not over saturate them in the market …please don’t make them into a cliche …

@@creolivia4830 I mean they have done other interviews that don't sound too rehersed but I think their conversational English is not quite strong except for Maya. That won't be a problem after they practice cause that is one of the strongest way to improve oneself.

@@creolivia4830 I wouldn't say rehearsed. They obviously took their time practicing their responses in English, but is that something worth knocking them over? They're literally 17-21 years old and on top of practicing speaking 2 additional languages, are practicing dance and vocals. I think you're being a little harsh expecting them to speak fluent English. They could have easily done this interview in straight Japanese to sound less "rehearsed." They're doing us English speakers a favor. Maybe you should learn Japanese if you want to hear them speak fluently?

@@itsmausu7399 To be clear, I never said anything about their “ English,” what would I say? They are doing great. Further, I didn’t knock them. I said they sound rehearsed, because they do. If they have a good A&R team their answers will sound more organic as they receive more exposure; they aren’t there yet.

Thank you for saying like that. As a Japanese, I would say their pronunciation is perfect and the way they deliver the message is very smooth. To be active globally, I hope they keep practicing and have a more confidence in speaking English! 英語が苦手な日本人が多い中で、彼女たちは本当に努力していると思う！これからも応援してます❤

i love the fact that they mentioned their admirations of rapping because they really gave credits to the black rappers that many idol’s who rap don’t even give props to. it’s the bare minimum but it’s still appreciative nothingness

Only person I heard say it was CL when she said kpop was heavily influenced by black artist/culture . She said 2ne1 was based off tlc and destiny’s child.

I mean, It's Japan though.. Those who are in the hiphop culture there really deep dive into what culture they are in especially dancers who keeps inviting the originators of the dance they are into to judge their competitions or handle workshops. I’m so happy to see them here. I’m so glad they’re getting the exposure. I love their English especially Hinata. She is so quiet and humble. Maya, well we all know she’s fluent in English. Cocona and her voice. Harvey with their cutesy voice. Juria and Chisa’s powerful voices. Jurin, every time she speaks, her smile pops. So proud of these girls. @@Zeighla I watched a video on the international school she went to it's called sacred hearts . They have a lot of American and Canadian teachers and students. Kids age 5 and up sound like are from America . They've been around native English speaker since they were babies and automatically have a native speaker accent.

Aw they're so cute 🥰 Hope they do more English interviews in the future (if they're comfortable with it)! Even other than Maya (who's obviously essentially fluent) all their English is really good. I assume they were prepared lines for the most part but still, very impressed for my first time hearing them do a fully English interview. I heard some rumors that Hinata was the least confident with English but... she was really good?

all the members grew up in Japan unlike other groups some of them are from abroad, we know Japan is a country where English pronunciation is a bit lacking but it's really amazing that all members are good at pronunciation except Maya who attend international school.

@@xtra-seven true. it's because the Japanese language phonology (not sure if this is the right term) is less than English'. Their alphabet consists of syllables instead of letters and the sounds they produce are limited which is why normally they have a hard time learning English when they are only taught at normal schools; they focus more on grammar and barely speaking/pronunciation.

Awwww they’re so cute and grateful. And I love how they credit their artists and inspirations, you don’t get that a lot. Usually it’s the same answer again and again, “Michael Jackson” (no offense to the legend) but you know they really listen to a wide range of music. They even know the dances from fifth harmony and pussycat dolls 😂 88 Rising, please add these wonderful ladies to your roster. Cocona and jurin has musical taste. I knew about cocona lauryn hill and Tyler the creator influence but i didn’t know about tlc but you can see the tlc influence and other 90’s r&b girl group influences. ❤
