I understand that this is more of a pop, dance record. I just like that they are willing to go this way with the music. I personally love it, the Maya and Cocona verse definitely saves it. My favorite thing about XG is that none of their songs sound like each other, but they are the best version of that sound, style, or genre.

This is the kind of song that grows on you the more you listen. I wasn’t a huge fan of it at first but I love it now. I love the vogue-y dance style they experimented with! This right here appeals to the masses (Globally). You can tell by the numbers. This song is definitely for the runway. I was in LA when they came it was jumping. Crowd went wild for the runway walk at the end. I hear your point though. I feel like PUPPET SHOW was the most KPOP sound they have on NEW DNA. I'm Japanese ALPHAZ🐺, but TGIF is not a song that will appeal to everyone. However, even Japanese people who can't sing in English can shout out "T G I F✊‼️" at a live performance and get excited. If anything, it's a song for live performances 😙

I feel you bro ... I think that with the New DNA album they wanted to flex a bit and showcase (and perhaps test out) the different genres they COULD do. I mean, Girl Gang - TGIF - New Dance - Puppet Show are all completely different kinds of vibes. My personal subjective favorites from the album (music without video, and excluding the intros) would go: 1 New Dance 2 Girl Gang 3 Puppet Show 4 TGIF. But there is basically something for everybody on it Now, here is one thing I am missing from XG - a real old school hip hop track. They did a 110% R&B banger already - and hip hop should be next.

This mini album they wanted to throw different genres out there and show all their hard work with their 5 years training they did! You seem like Maya aka Martin is your bias and she started at 13 her and cocona are the youngest girls in the group both turn 18 this year.

When this was released, I was speechless. It was giving something else that I can't vibe with it at first, but well I was in the rabbit hole of XG. They keep coming back to me, especially the rap part of Maya and Cocona in this song. Until it gradually grew on me that I was mumbling "Sheesh, thank God I'm Fly" and that was epic, never thought I'll give in to this song. And also the way how you react to this is very understandable and I love it!❤

I feel like XG is experimenting since they do promote as a GLOBAL group, i think they're testing to see what sounds their fans like so they can truly give us all something we can love from them

Only thing I will say is that they do not and will not stay in any lane. They will do whatever they want and there is nothing they can't do. This record isn't for me either, but it's still a hit record imo.

I completely agree with you. This is my least favorite track of theirs, but they still slid on it for sure. Cannot deny the talent they have to go through multiple genres of music and still kill it in each. R&B and hip hop should be their bread and butter, but I don’t mind them exploring other genres since their talent can allow it. Target audience definitely loved this track for sure.
