a couple of days i can listen both of them. if compare this radios the XHDATA is a winner for me because a sensitivity, a selectivity and sound quality. The R-9012 on FM has a lot of mirrored stations, and due to the expanded band a tuning to a station is hard enough. Also the R-9012 is quite noisy cause it hasn't an input filter. The only advantage of R-9012 is a low energy consumption.

I have an R9012 and I don't use it. Audio is thin, and despite the big reputation I find the reception is nothing special. But I love my PL606. I have to admit that I had the PL606 for a long time before I finally put in the effort to learn how to drive it. It has lots of buttons and small print labels. But eventually I got my head around most of its features, and now it's my 'go to' radio for all bands. Audio is a real step up from the 9012, but audio is still not the strong point of the PL606 - but the sound is at the point where it's pleasant. Thanks for this video! I still like to do a manual tune on an old school dial. You don't need good eyesight for that, and it's quite relaxing. And for that purpose I will probably get an XHData D-219. What a bargain!

XHDATA with a DSP chip vs. Tecsun with an analog tuner. They both have strengths and weaknesses based on which type of tuner they use.

Thanks for the review Jim, been thinking about both of these, nice comparison. Here in Australia I can get the 219 for AU$20 and the R9012 for AU$28. I'm going to get the 219 for its better SW performance.

@@sidneycavalcantEn Argentina la xdata funciona mejor que la Tecsun en esos modelos de gama baja, ya que la Tecsun viene de fábrica calibrada para una banda de servicio meteorológico o emergencia climática que la misma no existe en Sudamérica y esas radios quedas como desfasadas o cortas en otras bandas AM y SW de mí región, en cambio la marca xdata en todas sus gamas no existe la banda citada, vienen con un standard europeo más compatible con el sistema local...

@@sidneycavalcantuna pregunta o dos, tenía durante más de 10 años una Degen d13, la cual lleve en mí mochila a todos mis viajes, pero la termine destruyendo, hoy en Argentina la más barata que puede comprar en Aliexpress con características similares y algunas mejoras técnicas como su batería 18650 y visor digital es la HanRongDa por 9 dólares, ¿La conoces, la recomiendas, es muy mala, vale la pena costo beneficio?, la otra para llevar en mochila que me gusta y puedo pagar es la xdata D368, pero no tiene ni panel solar ni linterna, ni dinamo a manivela, igualmente estos tres los puedo fabricar reciclando la Degen d13 que tengo pensado hacer un powerbank caseros. Espero tu respuesta o mejor aún un videos de esas radio que no las encontré en tu canal y sería grata sorpresa verlas, ya que tienes un buen trabajo en tu canal, te sigo siempre. hi jims lovely two radios i have them both what is good about these two radios is that they both are cheap price so no worries when u carry them everywhere and they dont consume battery since they are analog not digital numbers ! again what is good about these two radios is that they both are good on mw fm sw and they both with cheap price and good quality ! i think or i beliebve after sony and degen and sangean left the radio industry i believe the only two companies that are still productation good radios are number 1- XHDATA 2- Tecsun and good thing that they both giving us very good price radio especially the d-219 thanks xhdata for good price and good radios thats u giving us

I get 680 and 1030 fine, I think they fixed the 9kHz issue. Those freqs are really bad matches for 9. 1026, 684 would sound horrible.

I'd probably rather go with the Tecsun. I can't stand the choppy scanning of the DSP- based radios. I have the Tecson DR920C and it's a true bliss to seemlessly swim through the frecuency band and find the sweetspot.

I had a DR920 for a year or 2 and then passed it on to someone else. Nice looking and well-built, but drifty tuning and not a strong SW performer. A nice radio all the same!

I have the Tescun R1212A which is pretty much the same radio with additional TV1/TV2 bands, totally useless on SW and MW.

Mate how can you test two different Radios, when you must scan different way. A. XHDATA Radio have a DSP chip. B. TECSUN It's True Analog . You must scan the Radio very slowly to get the signal. Do your home work first before you do video's and knowing nothing about. ❤love
