I loved watching this on Saturday mornings with my sister. I especially liked that Kimiko had a different outfit every episode, unlike most cartoon characters. What Disney did to this show was downright criminal, especially changing the name of the Shen Gong Wu, changing Dojos color and making him so damn thirsty for Master Fung

Actually the Shen Gong Wu names to my knowledge were copyrighted by Warner Bros. Animation so they had to change the names if they wanted to continue the show without Warner Bros. Involvement.

What a great show. I remember waking up on Saturday mornings and watching on KidsWB. This, Jackie Chan Adventures, Spectacular Spider Man, Magi Nation, Pokemon and YuGiOh and so much more... I'm 30 now I miss it so much....

Im 33 and I feel you. My Mum used to turn the TV up to the max when pokemon came on Saturday morning. The Pokémon theme was basically my weekend alarm and never failed to get me out of bed. God, I wish I could go back.

Does he though? He only turned on Wuya because he didn't have his friends to hang out with. Not because he realized he did the wrong thing. I don't think anybody should've been the leader and just stayed as an equal team. Omi really got the short end of the stick in that last arc since all the others became a leader in the alternate timelines but he never did.

You are missing some context in the lore. Jack didnt seperate from Wu Ya because he didnt want to work with her. She backstabbed him and abandoned him for the monster. When her plan failed, she tried to pretend the past events didnt happen but Jack didnt have any of it and decided to do it on his own.

Yea I loved all the different personalities in this show. The bad guys were all so well written and they had thier own agenda. Even the most basic of villains like the Kat girl was cool. Also Jack was hilarious and is probably just one of my favorite villains in general

Xiaolin Showdown was one of my favourite shows as a kid. I loved it so much. Chase Young was a really cool villain, but Jack Spicer was hilarious. Back then, you would expect Omi to be chosen as the Master since he wthe MC and face of the show, so it was surprising when Raymundo was chosen. So great though, I rly should rewatch it.

Chase young and Mala Mala Jong are some of the best villains in cartoons. Just there mere presence gives your body a feeling of “we’re fucked”. Like as seen in the show, only plot armor prevails.

This show was so brilliant. I remember re-watching the first seasonover and over again and hoping that after the episode they defeated Wuya there will be a continuation. By this moment, CN played the first season like 8 times and I knew almost every part of dialogue by heart. Even now i would probably quote the lines before the characters speak them. I was so happy when the next seasons were finally introduced. Great ideas, great humour, great characters, great villains. Jack Spicer was the most hillarious since even though he was a genius inventor etc., he was dumb af :D Also i used to draw and create my own sheng gong-wus in primary school, too bad the show was kinda short, yet still one of the best ever :)

My only complaint about this show is the fact that Wuya states in episode 1 that there are hundreds of Shen Gong Wu, but we only actually saw around 72 of them throughout the show with a few of them barely being used.

I actual feel like the show would have been better with less if there was a set amount the plot would have been thicker and if there was ever the need for more create a character tht could make them but having unlimited amounts w convenient powers just made it seem like it can go forever making the ending just fan service and a bit anticlimactic

Tbf introducing hundreds of items which can be included in any episode at any point would likely be a bit overwhelming for the (usually young) viewers. The alternative would be something like Yu-Gi-Oh, where the writers can introduce a card at any point before it getting a proper introduction and never needing to re-use it in future episodes. Keeping to the Shen Gong Wu that we knew was probably better since repeated use of the items helps the viewer develop an expectation for each item's capabilities.

I’m so glad the series ended with the Xiaolin warriors going up against almost every villain they’ve faced throughout the series (even though it was kind of unnecessary). Could you imagine if they made a sequel series or something that had little to no spirit from the original series and make Raimundo’s promotion completely meaningless? That would like suck pretty bad

And if they did that they'd probably have some kind of dumb contract issue, like having to rename all the Shen Gong Wu. Considering they have to say the name of the item out loud every time they use it that kind of thing would be *really* hard not to notice, good thing they wouldn't do that.

They would probably even make Chase directly related to Omi, became evil out of love. Oh and have Chase lay an egg who'd become one of the threat's they'd have to face. Thank goodness that never happened.

I dont know, I felt it was always implied Raimundo was superior to his friends but was overshadowed by Omis years of exprience. Master Monk Guan trusting him with that covert mission and stuff. Plus Omi had too much a ego, altering the timeline to be in charge, i feel like he was meant to be Spock to Raimundos Kirk

I thought the same until I looked at Ray's evolution and Omi's growth. Part of Omi's journey was learning to let go of his superiority complex, and accepting that others could be as good as him, if not better, even if they had also traversed the dark. This is shown in the show's ending, when Omi's genuinely happy for Raimundo ascending to the rank of Master. I get where you're coming from, though: Omi did go through a lot and had a lot of merit to go through as a Master, but I believe the ending gave closing to his character arc.

Because despite being a great fighter, he was an egomaniac and a terrible leader. The entire point of the finale was to show that Omi was a poor decision maker and leader while Raimundo had both these qualities in spades. Honestly the third season in general subtly but noticeably demonstrated why Raimundo, not Omi, was fit to be the leader. It was heavily implied throughout.

I very vagually remember, that they had a sweepstakes on channel 5, were the show aired in my region. Where kids could submit their drawings/ideas for a shengong wu and then if you won it would be turned into a real sheng gong wu. My guess is the thurn of thunderbolt since it's a repeat of eye of dashi, or perhaps maybe even the tongue or baby among us... idk

Idk if they changed this format but when I was younger as a kid I noticed whichever side won the first talismen, they would win the showdown (or maybe the other way) BUT, I noticed it on every episode I watched which was maybe a handful. Edit: all the episodes I saw there was always 3 things they all went for but the 3rd one would always result in a showdown with the previous 2 items

So something that ALOT of people do not realize is that there was actually MORE to this show and does not end there as there was a revival/continuation that they did, unfournunatly due to the show being made in Canada and some Canadian laws making it so only Canadian voice actors may voice on the show, not all of the same voice actors came back, as well as renaming all the shingongwo , as well as a few other changes. It overall did not last long as nobody knew about it and the changes where to much for the show, not to mention continuity issues.

As i was always w fan of raymoundo as a kid and was shocked they didn't obvious pick the omi to be the leader since the show has u believe that he is the main character of the 4 main characters.... the reboot was only ok unfortunately tho and Pong was so unnecessary of a character 😒

That was a nice recap of a fun cartoon. However, as constructed criticism: the narration cadance/speech patter was very repetitive and made the video less enjoyable. I think that working on that could make the recap even better :)
