Xiaomi can't just make an Android One phone without any sort of compromise or drawbacks. Mi A1 - Same chipset as the Redmi Note 4 but the battery is smaller Mi A2 - Faster chipset but there's no headphone jack and expandable storage Mi A2 Lite - Bigger Battery than the Mi A1 but the port is Micro-USB Mi A3 - Big Battery Capacity, Headphone Jack, expandable storage, faster GPU... but both the CPU clock speed and display resolution is lowered! I just feel like that Xiaomi doesn't really want to give us Android One users a no-compromise device since they can't monetize or put ads on a clean, stock Android.

You have to pay a premium for them to NOT touch the software? *These truly are confusing times.*

I guess the main value here is all those specs at "THIS price range" with such a great OS. Currently using mi A1, thinking to switch. Also the size of this phone is so nice.

Yeah, Mi A3 is compact, but Mi 9 SE is the smaller Xiaomi in 2019 so far.

I have no problem with 720 display since performance and battery endurance is what im looking for in a smartphone. The design is great and its camera as well. Xiaomi never fails to give us affordable smartphones with good quality and compete with other high end expensive smartphones. Great job techbeans i like the unboxing video. MI A2 still better.. Price point and Chipset. MI A3 is a mess with that 720 panel also the chipset is not an upgrade sd665. Price is equal to Mi 9SE. Might as well get Mi 9SE.

Android One devices is a good buy if you like close to AOSP experience and hate bloatware. Some of the preinstalled Google apps are placeholders, meaning they are small in size (I've seen some in kB but lately around 1-10MB) and can be hidden by disabling it. Still, the decision of which Google Apps are placeholders depend on manufacturer. At least HMD (Nokia) has a lot of placeholders that begins downloading after initial setup, which I ended up letting it finish and proceed to revert to factory version and disable it.

720p is kinda let down for me. But overall good value!

Headphone sound quality?? Everyone uses their phones for music, but none of the tech channels review the sound quality through the headphones? Instead, they go on and on about the camera. Is use my camera about twice a month, but I use the headphones every single day. Same with everyone else I know. Why don't the tech channels tell us about the sound quality with headphones?

This phone is actually very good for its price also when compared to MiA2, the MiA3 is so much better for its price due to these: 1. UFS 2.1 storage. 2. 48MP rear camera. 3. Ultrawide camera. 4. microSD slot. 5. 3.5mm jack. 4. 4030mah battery. 5. Super AMOLED display. MiA2 was actually more of a compromised phone than this. Mi A2 should have been skipped because it has lots of features removed from the MiA1.

720p generally is not that bad. It saves you some battery after all. The problem with this device is its size. It is way too big for this resolution. They should have opted for a 5-5,5 inch screen. "The quality and sharpness that I'm seeing right here is equal of that of a 1080p Display" I am quite sorry, but I strongly disagree. Even the Mi Max 3 (1080p+) with its unusual nearly 7 inch display beats the 286ppi on this device. The Galaxy S3 has over 300ppi. Going with 5,5 inches would raise the PPI to acceptable levels once again with 312ppi, 5 inches would create an amazing 343ppi. Maybe tossing out the slow in-screen finger print scanner, and adding those extra pixels would be worth while(?) Tons of people prefer "old-school" ones anyways. I kinda wanna see "small" devices again, even though I am not using one myself. I got tons of girl friends and women in general that simply stay with their older iPhone, because they want that handleable screen size. I do think that the Mi A2 is still the better option. It is also a lot cheaper

I just started using this phone and I can say it's not very good. I have a 64 SD card inserted and downloaded a lot of songs into my SD card then I usually turn phone off when I go to bed then when I turn phone on in morning, ALL my songs are gone! When I click into settings to check the usage of card it says I used 4gb but when I click into music file there is nothing in there. Do you know how to fix? Not good Xiaomi!!
