if one likes a champion, what reason is there to stop playing them in another lane? "Ah nah the meta doesnt allow me to play that champion my hands are tied". If you were a true otp you'd have fun playing to champion to begin with regardless of lane. Will it be the most efficent? Hell nah. Will it be fun. Yes.

As the guy who played Shen the most in EUW with 5 million mastery (and i'm still playing him despite his current state, peaked rank 1 euw split 1) yeah you are 100% right. The champion feels useless and get outclassed by 99% of the top lane roster... hell, maybe by every single top laner at this point. All of his power is concentrated inside one single spell, Stand United, and that specific spell is probably the most team reliant ultimate in the whole game. So when you pick Shen you are basically playing slot machines. You hope to have someone fed enough to ult and win through him. There is pretty much no more depth inside this champions kit anymore. He used to be a champion with strong early game and lane pressure and used to have a pretty decent skill expression through his Q and how he could play proactive after getting a couple of kills in lane to enable his team mates. He is not a lane bully anymore, he is not a laner at all. He is not even an enabler at this point, his playstyle is way more reactive these days so yeah, you flip the matchmaking and if you get someone fed you press R on him and peel him. Shen became Soraka but the problem is... Soraka is way stronger and can play bot because her kit allows her to play support. Shen's kit was created for a top laner and that's why you can't really blind pick him support and even in those scenarios that allows you to pick him there is always a better alternative to Shen. So yeah, the champion is doomed and i think a rework is necessary at this point. Riot is busy cooking the new Aphelios making old champions obsolete and useless in 2023 more and more. Don't swap champion if you are not satisfied, just close the client and don't open it anymore. That's what Petu should have said during that boycott. Riot doesn't really care as long as you play, make them lose money so they stop buffing Riven and ignoring League's real problems. EDIT - His current best build is Ionian Boots, Radiant Virtue, Redemption into full support items (Abyssal Mask, Putrifier, Ardent Censer, Knight's Vow, Flowing Water, Anathema's. Sometimes you could go for a Frozen Heart, Randuins, Zhonya but most of his items are support items). Sounds like a complete joke but it is the reality of this champion in 2023

@@CJManning86 sunfire doesn’t proc it, last season’s iceborn did but not anymore. His Q and E (I think) can proc it, but not as good other tanks because his abilities are basically all single target and on semi high cd unlike udyr, Zac, and Maokai. I’m taking about strictly for clearing btw, you can probably make demonic semi work in top.

Vayne e is not an autto attack, it's a pintclick ability (at least i think it works like that)
