Why 1/3? I know he got it from doing 25/75 but don't understand the reason for calculating that in the first place. I assume it's because FoN reduces damage taken by 25% but why the 75 in the denominator?

@@Strikerjuice Sometimes you do calculations without even thinking how and why xD You have 100 hp and take 100 magic damage. That's zero hp left. Now you have FoN and readiy to take the same 100 damage, but now it is only 75. So you have 25 hp left to take more magic damage. How much more of that initial 100 magic damage? 25*(100/75) more, or, if you shuffle abit, 100*(25/75).

I see now that because after taking the 75 damage, you have 25hp less that will also take reduced damage from FoN. I just do not understand intuitively how it is determined that the inital 25% mitigation + what will be mitigated of the remaining HP you have leads the effective resistance to be 1/3, or rather increasing your effective hp by 1/3. I am slow to understand math

@@Strikerjuice You can just divide 1 by 0.75 and you will get the effective HP multiplier, which is ~1.333 = 1/3 more hp. If you had, for example, 60% damage reduction, you do 1/0.4 = 2.5 times as much effective HP.

Side note, you have to beg your team not to ban Kassadin and Zed. Both popular picks that you can utterly crush as Shen. Free LP

I think frozen heart 1st item rush is a waste and only useful situationally(Malphite being an exception because his armor scalings are nuts and is mana hungry early game) Mana is underutilized stat[K'sante has no use for that, Ornn has not much mana issues](unless you're maokai, but maokai tops usually build sunfire rush(third or 4th item froz heart) Doesnt give hp(which is very important as auto attack champs usually deal mixed damage, Jax(with his ult passive and W), Irelia with her passive, Yone with his passive, Fiora deals true with her passive but scales with your hp so in the end it breaks even) Rock solid passive scales with hp and is more effective if you have more hp(increasing effective hp), it's like double scaling(still pretty good early but without hp, it seems underwhelming) Early ability haste is pretty good tho But by the time you finish your frozen heart, those lethal tempo bonkers has probably finished their mythic. You also lose out on the laning and pushing advantages granted by Bami's rush Bami's cinder + Warden's mail + Tabi's gives a total of 300 hp, 60 armor, 45 movespeed, immolate passive, 12% basic attack damage reduction, and rock solid passive for 3100 gold basically gives you more tools in laning with comparable defense(but 300 gold more expensive, so Frozen heart+ t1 boots-25ms).

@@robertjohnpecayo8642 really good stuff which i can get behind, some things i disagree with is k'sante not needing mana, i've been playing a lot lately and in a very punishing way, going for a lot of small trades and the mana really helps, plus he has a lot of resistance scaling. i do get the hybrid point mainly for jax because he does 37% magic but less for Irelia and Yone because they do 27% and 20% magic and a large chunk of that is onhit, which gets reduced by the attack speed slow. also you usually finish frozen heart (plus maybe boots) before they have their mythic, usually they either have all the mythic components and maybe that + t2 boots, while tanks usually go demolish which may also help with a gold lead (and probably a kill as well, i know hypothetically speaking you want an even lane but i feel like most of the time with a good tank and a good LT player the tank wins early). i do like the bamis warden tabi combo a lot and i will try it! it sounds like you finish your first item way later but its still a strong combination of components, so thanks!

Why dead man's? You can go warden mail & iceborn gives you slow. Deadmans is low armor hp for the cost
