I only ever had one Ford in the 70’s and suffered. I learnt a valuable lesson and never repeated the experience.

As as young lad we used to go the cars in the park in the 70s at Alexandra Park and and it was free. GOOD GREAT old days 😁.

First time ever seeing a South African car show. I'm in NZ, so being a Ford man who had a Mk5 Cortina 2.0 L, it is amazing to see the likes of a ute (bakkie), with available 3.0 V6 ! Now, I've got a 2001 Ford Falcon XR8 220kw !!

I visited my big sister working over in Pretoria back in 1979 and it was then, (being from the U.K.) that I saw my first 3.0 Cortina Ghia. No rust over there either. SA classics are still a popular import to the U.K. partly because of that and RHD of course. Kind regards buddy. 🙏

Reminds me of a late 1970's early 80's town centre carpark here in Great Britain. Or the ford dealership I used to work in.

In 93 I had a metallic blue mk5 2.3 Ghia cortina, MGM194X with a 2.9i V6 engine fitted on 2.3 running gear, Manual 4 speed. 7J x 13 Ally Kat wheels in metallic blue with polished rims, the car was on spax shocks and springs and lowered 3in all round. She was quick for the time, could keep up with a Cosworth until 70 / 80 mph but the change into 4th, Cosworths then drove off but watching RS turbo owners faces when a Mk5 Cortina passed them was priceless.

Some great cars ,I had 6 ford Sierras over the years ,two 2,9 twin turbos estate ,a 3,1ltr turbo and a 2,9 twin turbo four door all great cars and some very rare great show

My true love of Ford’s started around 1968 when I was just 14, my Dad and my big sister’s boyfriend were both Ford fans at that time. 55 years on and approximately 25 Fords later for me and my darling wife I am still a totally dedicated fan. Long may it continue! 🙏👍❤️

The yellow Ford that you described as a 2liter was called 20m It was also available as 17m models They were called Ford Taunus Available in sedan and hatch back

V4 was the 17m and the v6 were the 20m

The Ford 2 door came in two models. The Ford 17M and Ford 20M . The difference was the engine. Some of 20M came with V4 2 litre engine which was very troublesome. Thank you

This brings back so many memories... i love the fact that there is so many blue blood in south Africa, the white sierra with the twin turbo s look a lot like the sierra rs cosworth with the 2lt 16v ybt engine, didn't get them in SA, think the XR8 is very rare now.... good video though👍🏻

Thank u for wonderful video. My maroon Sapphire is there, it's 3 litre V6. That yellow Ford, it's 20M with 2 litre V4. Super rare car. Also that twin turbo V6 Sierra, very rare too.

Hi Sveno, in New Zealand 🇳🇿 we had Australian Ford Transits that had the Falcon 250ci ( 4100cc ) inline 6cyl that was also shared in the TC, TE & TF Aussie Cortina ( UK Mk3, Mk4 & Mk5 ) There was a lesser known smaller inline 6cyl that had the smaller displacement of 200ci ( 3300cc ). In New Zealand 🇳🇿 we not only had English Cortina, but Aussie Cortina's with either Pinto, or Falcon inline 6, the later would have the bonnet bulge. Lesser known was the Transit from Australia that had the Falcon engine in place of the Pinto.

The red Ford "Fairlane" is actually a Ford Fairmont (Falcon in Australia). That first yellow Capri looks to be a Capri Perana.

An interceptor was never fast, if you wanted the fastest you would have a Chevy can-am for that era, even a Datsun SSS was and is better than a Ford v6
