Looks like you are adding to much soldier to the wire when you a tinning it. You can check to see if the soldier wicked up the wires by seeing if the wire flexs before you soldier them on the motor. If they do not flex, you put in to much soldier.

How much power does your welder have? I don't get welds as clean as yours, and I think it's a problem of power in the welder. What do you think?

I would definitely say that your solder gun sounds a little weak. I think the best thing to have is a solder station that has an adjustable temperature adjustment . I have one but it’s pretty old, I think it was made in 1985. It works though, I turn it up all the way which is around 875 degrees, I get nice clean shiny joints from it but it takes a long time to achieve them, not like Ty here, his setup is quick. It would be nice to upgrade from what I have but I don’t really have the money to spend on a new one right now
