Unfortunately, 1064 (fiber) and 455 (blue diode) aren't good for absorbing into clear acrylic. For that you really need the 10,600 wavelength which is the CO2 laser.

You will need a C02 for cutting clear acrylic. Diodes or Fibers can't.

@@CorneliusCreations thanks for your transparency about that! Most of the videos I've seen on the Ultra haven't been as open about why they haven't shown the machine at work and it's been confusing to a lot of viewers as to why, based on the comments sections.

Yes sir, I completely understand my friend. I didn't even receive software at the time of this video that even supported the ultra. These are first look videos which does not include a demo or testing. We cannot share info until xTool has the official release.

I’m sure it will be… but haven’t heard anything yet. But with how intelligent XCS is getting, I would encourage people to use it, especially with the conveyor, batch process etc.

@@CorneliusCreations I wouldn’t mind switching to XCS, but ideally I would like a consistent workflow across all my lasers. It would be nice if XCS had paid addons/plugins to support other laser controllers like ezcad, ruida, and trocen controller boards.

I totally get where you are coming from. If you are invested into other lasers i could see where LB would be the way to go.

The down side is that even if it is LB compatible (which I'm sure it will be as it is basically THE Laser Controller Software), all of the cool stuff that most people are buying this laser for will probably only be available for use in XCS. XTool is always pushing the boundaries and really leading the way with their R&D so it's probably impossible for the LB devs to keep up with their innovations. LightBurn is a shockingly small company, especially considering their dominance as essentially the standard of laser controller software.

Hey Kevin, Let me explain my friend, It isn't clickbait. Let me help you understand. (Many many companies do this) This is a "First look". None of the people who received their machine at the time of the video has even RECEIVED the software to run it at the time of the videos... So we CANT show you. (Or at least I didn't receive the software loaded on). No one is allowed to show the machine running until xTool does the official release. There are many reasons for this, but the business model for these tools is influencer marketing and such. Many companies will promote a product and wait for the release of it. I am sorry if it sounds click bait, but first looks are information videos, not tutorials or demo videos. However, The review should be out soon! I hope this clears things up for you man.

I understand what you’re saying but not the best marketing model. I wrote Xtools with questions and I get hang tight it will be answered at the live unveiling, but they won’t tell me when that is. Seems to me if you’re going to toss the carrot out you need to put it close enough for a bite or it will be ignored. BUT that means. I’m not spending that amount of money without seeing it working live and getting some different opinions. In the end I’ll high five ya go down with you for a Diet Coke. Have a good day.
