I have been making salted eggs for many years and all I used was saturated salt water and duck eggs, all other items in your video is superfluous.

There's a difference between good and excellent. I like to experiment, and have tried various recipes, from basic brine to more elaborate process. I found Mei Kwei Lu gave the best result. However, I'm not convinced about "sunbathing" the duck eggs, without seeing some scientific explanation.
