Great video! In the past I would teach the Keynesian model and just introduce the Classical model early in the course. I have started to use both throughout the course. Although it may confuse them for a bit, I think it's 100% necessary for them to be comfortable with both. Thanks for all your work.

As a positive output gap is only possible in short term, surely is doesn't make sense on a keynsian diagram. I know you touch on this but wasnt sure if you meant it doesnt fit because output isnt furtherto the right than Yfe or becuase it wouldnt be on LRAS. 4:20 *bottom right diagram*
@tifeosibanjo8154 жыл бұрын
@Edward Burns Sorry for such a late reply but he was referring to the fact that the positive output gap for the Keynsian LRAS is above YFE and is therefore unsustainable in the long run... It's actually impossible to have your demand exceed LRAS because of the huge demand pull inflationary pressure and scarcity. His main point is that it is just a pain to draw a positive output gap for the Keynsian diagram.

Hi, if LRAS shifts to the right and Price level decreases, isnt this deflation and not a reduction in Cost push inflation?

Hi, I was wondering whether you could do any videos on the new Edexcel 2015 syllabus where there is a paper three combining macro and micro concepts. Something that could tell us how you would structure these synoptic essays or something? Thank you so much

How can something be more than the potential?
@Rhys-gv3ir3 жыл бұрын
He said in the video
@srikrishsanthosh68982 жыл бұрын
'Potential' is defined as the efficient use of all factors of production available *AT SUSTAINABLE LEVELS*. If you start asking workers to work 12 hours overtime and never stop your machinery from production, these are UNSUSTAINABLE levels but you can achieve more than potential growth. Of course, this is short-lived, because you must stop machinery eventually for servicing, and there will come a time when workers are burnt out.
