in the manga, rakan/lakan was the one half-asleep and took the guy's hat in front of him then put it back when he has finally fully woken up haha they really change a few scene in the anime and the author knows it as well. Same comment from the other vid reaction 😅

Naturally occurring blue roses do not exist. The ONLY way to get blue colored roses is to artificially dye them with blue colored ink. Maomao didn't 'cheat,' she used her knowledge of what was feasible and worked diligently to make what was seemingly 'impossible' a reality :)

There are some recent rose experiments using genetic modification (roses lack any genes for blue pigment so traditional methods of rose cross-breeding have no chance of succeeding, you need to insert the "blue" genes from somewhere else). Even those can only produce a blue-tinged violet so far.

Jinshi is the Advisor piece on the right. The Bishop is Gaoshun. Basically in Chinese chess, Advisor is generally considered the second strongest piece in game, while Bishop is third. The fact that he only sees people as go stones/ chess pieces, means he knows where every person should be placed in the grand chess board in real life. Also, he sees Jinshi as "the Advisor" means that's how he knows Jinshi is someone high up, like second in hand after the emperor (because that piece indicates this).

While we all expected Jinshi to be important, its a little shocking how highly Lakan values Gaoshun. The man is basically portrayed as Jinshi's secretary and yet he's more skilled and valuable than all of the people Lakan sits next to.

Lakan has that condition: Prosopagnosia, also called face blindness, is a condition where you have difficulty recognising people's faces. There is no treatment, but there are things you can do to help you recognise people.

I have a version of prosopagnosia I think. It's not extreme like Lakan's, but I struggle to remember faces. I can remember certain people, mostly people I form strong emotional ties with or if I really disliked them. But most people I don't remember the faces of. I went to school with people for grades 4 through 12 that, if I met in the store today, I wouldn't recognize their face, even if they barely changed. I would say that my version is mild-to-moderate.

@@user-zn7nx7zn4t same here. i can retain faces I have a connection to, but new faces take a while to stick. I tend to keep tabs with specific recognisable clothing or accessories, like glasses or wardrobe items. If I ever got called to do a recognition line-up I'd be screwed for sure lol

@@user-zn7nx7zn4t I have it too. Not as bad as Lakan but worse than you. To an extent I can recognize friends and family but if I meet people in unexpected places I struggle to recognize them. My dad shaved once and I couldn't pick him out of a crowd. I can't picture my mother's face. I remember faces by emotion. But if there's a dramatic change it really throws me off. Like losing weight or cutting hair. People act offended that you don't know them. Like someone I'm doing it on purpose.

@@alsinakiria That sucks. I'm sorry you have that challenge. It's tough enough in my case. A more severe form of it surely isn't fun to deal with. I don't know how true this is, but I have heard that, in general, people who read a lot tend to struggle more with facial recognition. Supposedly the part of the brain that becomes really skilled at reading is the same part that has to do with facial recognition and those two things compete for capacity of that part of the brain.

@@user-zn7nx7zn4t That´s interesting. I definitely am/was a bookworm, and I struggle with faces quite a bit. (I´ve never had it medically checked, so I can´t tell how "real" it is.) But yeah, I usually tell people apart using anything but their face. Mostly by hair and voice, but also things like body build. (Though it´s more instinct, a general feeling, than actually being able to tell these things apart.)

Maomao basically invented a greenhouse and started the whole manicure trend. She went through all that trouble just to spite Lakan and throw him off his game. Maomao, Suirei, and Lakan are all forces of nature in their own twisted and menacing way. These trio are such powerhouses fr🔥

Lakan knows jinshi has considerable power(also as seen in the episode lakan cannot identify jinshi's face but he tagged him in his mind as an advisor which the equivalent to western chess is the queen) thats why he challenged him to find a blue rose. For me it has 2 effects. 1st effect is showing to the court/all of the officials present that Jinshi has considerable power and should not be taken lightly. 2nd effect is to lessen the attention that Lady Loulan and subsequently her father the attention that they will garner in the banquet. As what have been mentioned in this episode Lakan has considerable skill in identifying and assigning the right people for the task, he knew if someone could take away the attention from Loulan and her father it is jinshi doing something people think it impossible. As for her part MaoMao knew his old man is upto something thats why she opted to take the challenge Lakan has made as to: A. Help jinshi. B. Set-up a possible confrontation wih Lakan.

Not only he has facial blindness, he also has social depression. This person has social issues, doesn't care to recognize them and look at their face. Example of this is the movie "A silent voice" where the MC always look down, this is the reason maomao made manicure to make Lakan look upward
