Nice antenna you notice any difference or enough to recommend being worth it? I have the FT 70 as well...I like it still figuring it out but that's just time and learning. I actually enjoy it and watching videos gives me something to do and figure out,for me I like this part

I got one of these in July. Similar time if new to you when video was made :) Digital a bit of a dead loss as can only hit one thing 33 miles away if get to somewhere a bike ride away and get a bit of height. Jarn mound, on ther QRZ. Got a google streetview screen grab of that at not quite bottom of my QRZ page liked in about or top photo. Nice to have a walk from home, get up to local village across field edge. bit of height, get so much back on repeaters or calling channels!. Nothing, 2m/70cm dead as a dodo here in Oxfordshire, UK. Had the SDR dongle running on a scan of 2 simplex and the pmr 446, (freebee walkie talkie). bit like FRS in USA. got a 23 year old pair of motorolas, walk that route I did today. Get out of town, local village, some height and back another way to get home. Talk to myself at different places along the walk, both bands and the old radio on something different. stock antena, longer Diamond one. not much difference, ok longer one a bit better, not do 2m band on stock, noisy, longer one get home to SDR dongle on computer, good stock antenna, hit repeaters 30 miles away on it on walk today. Nothing back :( even the ones 10 miles. 13 miles, nice signal, will work, not just noise coming out other end. Amatuer radio, odd hobby on a handheld, get little back.

Oh good explanation very well instructed and to the point👍You remove the governor in the back to expand frequency?
@somethingcool7903 Жыл бұрын
If you mod it in the back what frequencies do you get? GHMR and MURS?
@AI7HE11 ай бұрын
Those are the ones

What antenna is that? And would you recommend?

Yes the Diamond SRH77CA

For scanning - how do you get the 4 decimal frequencies? EMS here uses xxx.1275 or xxx.685

I think it was just the frequency step I had set in the radio

Have a question here. I have the ft 70dr and did the mars mod on it. Will that allow me to also receive public safety P25 radio since this is a digital radio?
@AI7HE3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately no since it’s a fusion radio it can only receive fusion digital transmissions.

Will the mars mod open up AM and FM radios?
@AI7HE Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure on that

Once the voltage is low enough it will indicate the icon

Why must you enter your call sign in order to use this radio? What if I only want to listen and not transmit?
