Thank you for the bit on fixing the BER. My FT-991 would work on my hotspot but not my FT-70D despite all settings being the same. I would transmit and the hotspot would trigger for half a second then cut out. My BER was sitting around 5%. I adjusted the frequency until my BER was sitting on average 1% between both radios and now my FT-70D works. I've ordered another hotspot so when that arrives I will set one up for each radio and customise the frequency.

I wish that I had seen this earlier. Would have saved me a lot of time messing with Wires-X. When entering the number in Wires-X use the YSF reflector number - not a Wires-X number. Now it works great.

Thanks for this informative video. Question: Why would after pushing the F and AMS keys the radio connect to my own node? In other words, my own call sign begins to scroll across the display. After doing that, entering any YSF numbers on the EN line and pushing the AMS takes me nowhere the radio does nothing.

I’m stuck at 3:34 of the video. Everything went well up to that point. I changed the Yaesu Fusion Configuration exactly as shown, clicked on “Apply Changes” and all went well. Then clicked on “Update”. It goes to the update page where it says “starting update” but goes no further. Thanks.

Great video but I still could not get mine working. When I tried to do the update it just sat there trying to stop the services. It did not lock up just sat there, I waited over 10 min. I was able to click on the Dashboard and it came right up. When I transmit on my rig it sees me but I just never hear anything from the rooms. Oh well.

Quick question. I am using a hotspot with the FT-70D and found your video to be a great help but sometimes when I try and disconnect by holding down the "mode button" instead of disconnecting I get TOO ROO flashing on the screen. Any idea what that is about? I then seem to stay connected...it won't disconnect.

Can you show what all the small symbols are to the left of the room Cn, En, Fr, rFr, Rptr, etc and what they mean. Mine is transmitting but all my audio comes back to my FT 70 after a delay and can't imagine this is correct for a QSO. Need to be sure what frequency and offsets to use on the radio as well as which ones go into the configuration screen. I have the upper frequency on the configuration screen at the PLUS offset frequency of 439.950 and the lower one at 434.950. I think I am close but still not quite there . 73 Thanks Greg KE8QAS.

I have a problem with my FT70DE. I can't transit to MMDVM HOTSPOT. In reception, however, I receive. With my FTM 400, however, I have no problem receiving and transmitting. I set the radio to Simplex mode, then DN mode without AMS, then set WideFM, then set Half Dev to disabled mode, and channel bandwidth to 12.5Khz. But I can not in any way transit on the Hotspot. I dare not imagine when I will have to configure the other FT3DE radio: on various forums I have read that the FT70DE and also FT1 and FT3 create many of these problems. Could you tell me how to solve the problem? Thank you very much

Hi I got ft 70d yaesu and jumbo hotspot I here cq UK fine but when transmit into it I break up and some time I don't get in but received it's fine on jumbo hotspot to my radio

Not recommended for high RF areas (like big cities) The 108 MHz - 580 MHz wide-banded receiver can be a problem.

Can a hotspot operate DMR and fusion? Obviously not a the same time.

can't connect to wires x on the hotspot. Just flashes wires for about 20 seconds and nothing happens. any ideas??

I can get it to work until the Wires X bit and it just times out and I cannot change anything, all other settings correct!
