In this video I replace the magneto side crankshaft seal. In the last video of this bike we had terrible high speed run on. It is my belief that that it is caused by failed crankshaft seals. I also believe that the carburetor is having some issues also.

Hi Dale, Thanks for the video! You do a great job every time. I can only imagine what my original crank seal will look like when I get the armature off my DT125A. I'm looking forward to using the puller. When I first started working on the motor in the early 80's I didn't know there was a special puller and was puzzled how the armature came off.

You will get it done Ron, sometimes those armatures can be a pill to remove even with the puller. But usually, a wack with a brass hammer on the end of the puller when tight will free most easily.

@@mikelauer8891 Hey Mike, sure appreciate the kind words. No, I am retired these days, I was once a technical school instructor in the U. S. Air Force. I guess maybe some of that has hung on to me over the years. I am just hoping that some may find some value in what I'm doing with the channel. I never dreamed that there were so many likeminded folks out there still interested in these old bikes. Shoot thought I was the only one. Thanks Mike.

@@mikelauer8891 Thanks Mike, looks like you're staying busy with all those bikes, I have been looking for a vintage small cc Honda to include on my channel, they are really hard to find in my neck of the woods. Those were great bikes, not real fast compared to a 2 stroke, but fun, nevertheless.

A definite improvement Dale but it does sound very lean. It's getting air from somewhere, I think you are right about the carb. I agree that it's probably drinking it's gearbox oil. That other seal will definitely make a difference when you get it. Best wishes, Dean.

Yes, it is fine till I give it some throttle then it starts to run like its running out of gas. Think that float is still not right. I have a factory manual now for it. Not a word about how or what specs for the float. Strange.

Beautiful looking bike, I noticed the huge back sprocket, it makes me wonder how the bike may ride. Is it for more power/torque for going up hills or trails? Thanks for the video!
@montana2strokeracer
@montana2strokeracer Жыл бұрын
Hey Stan, yes hence its name the Trailmaster, this was before the lever to change from high range to low range. You have to actually change the sprockets. The small one will get you to 60 mph, the large one will get you to 35 mph, but up some really steep and rugged hill. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Gi Gi, I did not see the link. I have looked on there and everything I see will not fit. They list it for the YL2, but they also list it for the YL1, these two have different screw locations, think the YL1 is about 92 mm between screws, and the YL2 is 102 mm. Thanks for hanging out in the shop with me.
