CD player/DACs are marvelous single-footprint solutions. I have a Musical Fidelity M6sCD.

The sound of that CDP is amazing, very musical . Very quiet in operation but little bit slow. The DAC is very handy, although USB input is a little bit fussy with devices.

Why on earth don't Yamaha release a 5000 series CD/SACD player to partner up with the c5000 and m5000. Are they planning on releasing one in the future?

CD Players at the implied retail of a "5000" series / flagship player is not likely to sell well. The CD-S1000 or CD-S2100 are a cosmetic match anyway.

I have Yamaha gear which I'm very pleased with but the remotes are really extremely poor compared with other makes such as Sony Philips etc which I've had for over twenty years. I had to replace my receiver's remote and now I am waiting for a replacement for my CD player which is inconvenient because some functions can only be actioned with the remote. Treat any Yamaha remote with the utmost, utmost care!

The interconnect cable is absolutely good enough for that CD player and no matter how much money you throw at it, it won't get better, not one iota.

No, it is not. The player has so much more to give then if you strangle the sound with a basic interconnect. I would recommend you listen to this CD Player with a WireWorld Oasis Audio Interconnect: listeningpost.co.nz/shop/wireworld-oasis-stereo-interconnect/

@@TLPCHC It most definitely is. Uttering sentences like “strangling the sound” renders you completely ignorant of how audio works. So, perhaps steer clear of trying to explain it or even meddling in it at all. Not a tinniest nuance is lost with a basic cable and not even people like you who make such bold yet preposterous claims could tell if they’re listening to a system with basic or any other interconnect cable unless it’s faulty.

Cube Merula. Cables make a difference. If you want to deny this, go ahead. But it is likely that you have no personal experence in the matter, or refuse to take the opportunity to see/hear for yourself. Stop wasting your time and mine.

The only thing i don't like about it is the open door button being to close to the cd drive. 👎

It is designed to be very thin and close to the CD clamp

@@TLPCHC CD drive moved little left side because inside right power supply more bigger than left power supply and this is problems with designer why CD drive tray not located strong in center and for this stupidly design button for open/close disc installed right side from CD trays , no simmetrical😠 I have cd-s 3000 and have custom made from real polished gold badge for full size including disc tray and button open/close and have glued at disc tray and front look very nice , one gold line covered full length and looking fantastic and very rich 😉👍 Best Regards from Los Angeles, USA👋✌ 🍸
