Hello and thanks for the message and your kind words! I think the DGX 670 is basically unmatched if you want to have, want to get creative and you're not too obsessed about stuff like technique etc. This is what music should be about! Yes, I do think it is very similar to the DGX 660, but we have an upgraded design in terms of the quality, we have much better LCD display with smart functionality etc. Think of it like a laptop upgrade, but you're still running all the same programmes you were before, only it's a better experience! Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that very much. Primarily, I did mean the speakers, yes. But the piano sound itself through headphones is also not great in my opinion. There's just something that sounds a bit low quality through headphones. Perhaps it's the in-built headphone amplifier, perhaps it's just lower quality sampling. However, I'd say it is miles ahead of the Korg XE20 through headphones - that thing is atrocious. One more thing... I tested a top Yamaha N1X recently against a Kawai NV10 and the Kawai sounded much better through headphones. So I'm thinking perhaps it is also the CFX sample I'm not liking too much

@@preetthakker4462 From my extensive testing over the past few months, I think it's very hard to beat the sound/feel of the Kawais. Yamahas are solid performers in general, Rolands are a bit soulless (not using recorded samples, instead they are using an in-house synthesized sound which many do not like). Casio is very good value for money, but their key action is a bit inauthentic until you get to the more expensive ones with the grand hammer action (the 310 and 510). Unfortunately, what I've come to find is there isn't much innovation in this sector and it's never really great value for money. I think the ultimate bang for buck is either the yamaha p515 or the kawai mp11se - that's if you want something that will last you from beginner to advanced player (but the mp11se doesn't have inbuilt speakers). Anything lower priced is a bit hit and miss..if you want to be safe and save as much money as possible, perhaps buy the cheapest Clavinova possible (not the Arius range..they're pretty rubbish)

Hello mate and hats off to you for picking up the piano at 80! That is amazing stuff and I wish you all the best with it! I wll try and give you a comprehensive breakdown of the differences now... DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MEDELI AND THE DGX 670 The Medeli keyboard you mention is more of an actual keyboard so it can't truly be compared to the DGX 670. The DGX 670 is more of a jack of all trades, master of none. When I played it, I realised the best thing for me is to get a digital keyboard AND an electronic keyboard, because a 2-in-1 device just wasn't cutting the mustard. However, if you are on a tight budget and want something all-round, then the DGX 670 is probably the only and best choice you have right now. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A DIGITAL PIANO AND KEYBOARD With a keyboard, what people tend to do is play chords with the left hand and the right hand will be playing the melody instead; this is very effective and can instantly make a piece of music sound good. To make music you need 3 things...Chords, Melody, Rhythm. On the other hand, a pianist playing digital piano will play chords/melody with both hands. It just takes so much time to get the coordination right and in the end it's not really that worth it unless you perform regularly (or you have a teacher). The other difference between digital pianos and keyboard is that keyboards come with less keys (61) and they do not really require a 'pianist's touch'. Digital pianos also have 'hammer action' keys which give you more control over the sound and require more force to press the keys. However, the 'touch' will take years to develop (you're training your finger muslces at the end of the day), and it requires alot of repetitive practice which can take away the fun. The only thing that kept me practising at school was because I had to prepare something for a teacher. As soon as I left music school, I stopped practising because there was no real reason to continue unless I wanted to perform on stage. The repertoire you will be playing is also different with keyboard and piano. If you want to play classical music like Beethoven, Mozart or even some baroque music like Bach, then you will definitely need a digital piano. Of course, they never had arranger keyboards back then! However, if you prefer to play more modern music or band music (anything from the 20th and 21st century), then perhaps a keyboard would be a more versatile choice. MY RECOMMENDATION The Medeli keyboard would be best compared to something like an arranger keyboard by Yamaha; for example, the Yamaha PSR SX600 or the SX700 would be comparable models. This is also a consideration because as a beginner you don't want to be faffing around with a buggy keyboard, or a broken keyboard that needs to go back for repair. I can't say I have tried the Medeli keyboards myself, but as a musician who went to a music school (and I know many trained pianists), what I have heard and experienced is you want something by Yamaha or perhaps even something like a Roland or Nord. But I would personally stick with Yamaha as I feel they are more user friendly (especially for beginners). There is a reason why Yamaha sell the most instruments out of any company in the world...I believe 25% of all new instruments are Yamahas...if they weren't good, people wouldn't buy them! Another option is keep the PSR 270 that you currently have - you say the backing sounds repetitive, but perhaps a keyboard teacher will help you get more out of this keyboard? There might be some other features you aren't fully using yet perhaps? I hope this information helps you Roy!

Thank you Brother for your very kind comment! I would say the P125 is more for if you want to just focus on playing the piano. The DGX670 is if you want to play the piano, but if you want to have fun and experiment with other sounds and features. One big difference is the acommpaniment feature - so you can play like a keyboard player with a band playing in the background. If you want to perform in front of people, I think the DGX 670 is a cool package. It's also great if you want to create. If you want the best piano Yamaha do, then for a bit more money there is the P515 which is really great. It has a much more natural touch compared to the DGX 670. So, to summarise: 1. If you are a beginner pianist = go for the P125 2. If you are beginner pianist, but you also want to discover more about music, create new music, perform more modern music like jazz, world music etc with additional backing tracks = go for the DGX 670 3. If you are an intermediate/advanced pianist and just want to practice the piano = go for the P515 without hesitation! 4. If you are an intermediate/advanced pianist, but you also want to compose music and have fun = go for the Yamaha Clavinova CVP range - like the CVP 701, CVP 805 or CV809. Another option is the range from Kawai - in my experience they are fantastic pianos with a great touch/feel and beautiful piano sounds! Take care my Brother from India ✌️

I think it really depends on what you want it for. If you are after more of a quality instrument such as better touch, response, sound, power etc, then the P515 is the better instrument. But you will get fewer features in return like voices, styles etc. If, however, you want to muck around on the piano a bit, you want to use keyboard features like accompaniments and styles etc, then perhaps the DGX 670 is the better instrument for that purpose. I am thinking of getting the P515 and for keyboard purposes I might buy a separate keyboard - I think sometimes having separate instruments for specific tasks is the better way to go, but it's more expensive. Another option is the Yamaha CVP range - there is the CVP 805 and 809 which is far more expensive, but they have the special keys, the power, all the keyboard features etc. The Yamaha CVP 701 is still solid I believe, and that is a similar piano but the keys are plastic (I think it's the GH3 action which is superior to GHS in the DGX 670). That is a far more affordable CVP piano. Hope this helps :)

That's really odd? I only tested this a month or two ago and the one I got came fresh off the boat from Yamaha. Oh well maybe next time I'm in a piano shop I will check again!

if you want all the features described in the video, for example styles, accompaniments etc - then perhaps this is the best overall piano/keyboard I think, yes. But if you're more piano focused, then I'd stay there are better options out there - I would prefer the Kawai and Rolands because of their actions

yeah it's from the internal speaker - most people record from line out, but i never see the point in that because that's not how you'll hear it in person (unless you use headphones)

They will have similar keyboards - the Arius is more of a standalone piano - the DGX is more of a keyboard/piano so it has more functions

Have both experiences, almost similar keybed (or exactly same), arius is more furniture like, compact, sounds a little tighter (which is good), not portable. This one is of course abs plastic, portable, can get addtional furniture stand and pedals or can use Z or X stands. Arius does not come with digital sounds, you have only the 4-5 different piano sounds with dedicated keys on the left, DGX is hybrid of piano and keyboard and while having piano sounds, also have their PSR voices with upgraded sound engine. Speakers are the same. Arius sounds bit bold because of it's heavy and wooden frame and downfiring speakers while DGX speakers are looking at the ceiling and coming out of plastic box. Now it's up to your need which one you need.

Yeah extremely difficult to test a piano in this manner, you are right. I guess my aim in this video was to provide a quick 9 or 10 minute review of the product and then just demo all the voices. Took me ages to complete that and faffing around with different repertoire would have just delayed the process!! Thanks for the feedback! I would absolutely love a Genos omg lol! Next best thing for me would be the PSR range as the higher models are actually very good for the money! I think I'm preferring playing keys these days over traditional piano anyway!

yeah everything you're saying is true. I think best thing is to save for a CVP series and then you get the quality and the quantity. I'm trying to get a CVP 805 at the moment

@@ahmetayhan6993 Hi Ahmet. I think for the budget you have the Yamaha DGX 670 is probably the best option. The only real downside I found was the key action but for the price maybe you can't complain!

@@ahmetayhan6993 korg havian is discontinued here in the UK. Yamaha DGX 670 is a new product which launched in 2020. So I think it is going to have more up to date features and newer sounds. The korg might have the nicer key action because the yamaha wasn't all that great when I tested it. But everything else on the Yamaha was decent. I have very recently tried the Korg XE20 and I think compared to the Yamaha DGX 670 it is an inferior digital piano

When I ordered it, there was also no stock. But after I ordered it, the ETA reduced to a couple of weeks when initially it said 2 months. So if you really want it then might be worth a try ordering it anyway! Good luck

I know - for what you get for the money, it is still a good deal I think. I think the GH3 could have been used..or perhaps there could have been a DGX 670 Pro Edition that comes with the upgraded keys.. Oh well...this is a pipe dream!

Man Discovers Tech Obviously GH3 is better than GH because it has one more sensor than GH, so they would have to consider using GH first if they wanted to do a huge upgrade, which GH is already a far superior action to GHS.

Yeah, they're alright..not the best. I also found that many of the voices sound basically the same as each other. You could probably achieve similar results in alot of cases with EQ
