Just for context: This DTR is a 1990 UK bike with 15t front (-1 from Standard) and 57t rear sprockets

That smarphone digital speedo works really well with that bike. Love the sound.

It would be cool to buy a cheap smartphone that's waterproof and keep it on the bike full time. Might even work out cheaper than a digital Speedo haha

Great idea, GPS! Love it! Man sounds don't know if it's my idea but sounds like the ignition is failing and also the clutch is slipping.

Thanks! I think I need a larger pilot jet cause it only stutters below 1/4 throttle, full throttle seems fine. The clutch was also set too tight causing it to slip so I'll need to test this again 🙂

@@RHauto About the jet.. sounds right, try that. The clutch... Also try that, if not you can use stiffer springs from other bikes. I see you mostly ride on the street, the stock pipe is mostly low and middle rpms, it's not for high rpms peak power, if you can change it to a good pipe for "high" rpms... Man it'll be like a totally different bike.

@@cristianr3712 a full dep would be nice, had one on an older bike. I'd like to keep it reliable and an everyday kinda bike so I don't mind a lower powerband. I was actually gonna gear it lower since I'll rarely be driving these speeds.

Have you removed the rpm restrictor in the speedo? It should go 130/135 ish

I think the Speedo reed switch restrictor stops it going over 60mph so I guess it's been removed by the previous owner

never go a gear down and use the motor engine to brake on a 2stroke, just hit the clutch and breaks

It's a habit when your used to a 4 stroke 😅 Not as much an issue with the autolube on the DT luckily

What’s wrong with it on top end? On reserves ?, I never had a DTR that ran like that on top end I had one that ran slow but I think it had proper restricted downpipe for some dumb reason, it got nicked before I could fix it , will you sell me that Al sort it out

Why is your 2 stroke light on ? Mine does that. Do you know why it is on all the time?

It stays on when the level sensor in the 2 stroke oil tank is low 👍

Bro mine with custom fmf exhaust from a yz and some carb tunning goes over 135 km

"The power is not with us" This bike does not pull properly. Something wrong with YPVS/Carb section.

It turned out to be the clutch cable adjusted too tight 😄

Yes it is derestricted but not running correctly. Pilot jet was too small

Just the clutch cable set too tight, will be fixed for the next test 👍
