Also, you might need to use larger clamp depending on where mounted.

Thanks for comments. I went back and forth between the 09 and 07. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. Overall the 09 packs more of a power punch and come with quick shifter, rider modes, slipper and assist. The 09 is a definitely a better deal for what you are getting. Only downside I found with 09 was the engine is a bit bulbous and kind of intrudes on leg/foot space. But maybe that is just my issue. Not sure about difference in insurance cost between the two. Save money with 07, or get a lot more tech, power with the 09. You will win either way.

@@arefriendselectric4947 Gotcha. And thanks for the reply! It seems almost impossible to find an 09 here in AZ, I assume it’s basically a pre-order/order situation? Dealers seem to never have them in inventory/on the floor. Also, if you don’t mind me asking(don’t gotta answer if you don’t want to), but what are you paying on insurance for the bike? My quote for an 09 was $110-$125 ish per month between the big insurances companies. I’d assume the 07 would fall under $100?

Sorry for late reply. I pay $84mo for full coverage here in California. But I set my deductible at higher amount. After a year or so I probably will change to liability only. That slashes insurance costs in half.

A year ago it was nearly impossible to find MT-09s anywhere. But in the last 6 months or so most dealers seem to have stock. Last I checked they were even discounting by $500.

@@arefriendselectric4947 Thank you for the reply! That insurance price is around the same price here too. Yeah, it seems super easy to find the MT’s in CA! If I check their website and set the location for AZ(Gilbert/Mesa area), there are almost never bikes within a 200 mile radius of me. But if I set it to ~500 mile radius, it seems NV and CA have a bunch! Might have to drive somewhere and haul it back possibly. Again, thank you for the reply! It helps a ton!
