I’ve a 2021 r1m with a full system and race filter that made 195hp to back tyre after a Dyno remap. So if you factor in 12 percent loses from crank to tyre it’s around 220hp.
@chrisandtori90835 ай бұрын
Ya your 20’+ is actually making 195 whp which is accurate for your listed mods. This is a 15’ R1 and in no way shape or form is it making anywhere near 220 😂 it’s making 182-184 whp tuned with an air filter and exhaust this video editor must be effin high period…

@@chrisandtori9083So what you are saying is that due to it being an older model despite having the same engine it makes less power?
@chrisandtori9083Ай бұрын
@@POPETINRacing same engine…? Huh? This is no where near the same engine not even close… I own multiple superbike raceshops and build racecars and wsbk spec superbikes for a living and we specialize in the R1 platform and build more then 30-35 a season all years ranging15’+ and up… this engine is still the same general idea as the 15’ engine but in no way shape or form is it the same engine… for a quick and not full list here are a few things that have been refined on the 17’-19’ and then 20’+ engines. 17’-19’ engines were taken from single valve springs to dual valve springs changing the spring resonance frequencies to make more power and more reliability… 20’+ engines have a ton of refinements to increase power and reliability as well, Starting with a updated ride by wire throttle handle instead of throttle cable to demand sensor ride by wire setup, Secondly the crankshaft is redesigned with wider main bearing journals to help support the crankshaft better for the power increase they made, Thirdly they changed the oil pump gerotor and star to create more oil flow volume but with a slightly lower oil pressure to help with engine hp pumping losses, basically lowering the pressure to increase overall hp without sacrificing reliability or flow volume, Fourthly they completely redesigned the cylinder head in several areas to increase hp and reliability, first area of the cylinder head refinements is the intake port flow angles are more direct flow path for less turbulence and more CFM air flow as well as actually shortening the port runner lengths to increase intake air flow and velocity, as well as completely changing the valve tappet rocker arm contact angles to increase the duration and lift of the camshafts while also offering more reliability under full out race conditions, as well as completely changing the fuel injectors and their spray patterns and directional spray targets and where it hits the back of the intake valves to help atomize the fuel spray for a more direct and complete burn in the cylinders helping to increase the combustion chamber burn efficiency while making more power at the same time, as well as the throttlebodies themselves to help increase intake velocity speeds. Also the camshafts have been reworked for making even more power on the intake and exhuast side, as well as a redesign of the exhuast ports and outlet shapes to help increase exhaust gas exit velocity while also providing an overall decrease in exit gas velocity turbulence which is ultimately helping the exhuast gas scavenging effects between the cylinders helping to pull and suck out the other cylinders exhaust gas pulses as the other cylinders begin to open their exhaust valves and the scavenging low pressure waves from the port redesign helps make the exiting of the exhaust a lot more smoothly and efficiently resulting in more power to the wheel…. And those are just a few of the (20+ redesign refinement updates) Yamaha did to increase overall power and reliability of the not only 17’-19’ engines and the 20’-24’ engines making them all not the same engines as the 15’ bikes and generating more power as well, oh and not to leave out even the 16’ bikes are also not the same engine as the 15’s either, as they had the crankshaft redesigned and had thrust bearing surfaces added to the crankshaft as well as the engine cases even with having side load thrust bearings added to help prevent excessive end float of the crankshaft, with excessive amounts of case wear on the 15’ engines they generally end up with the crankshafts counter weight and the balance shafts counter weight making contact with each other and completely destroying the engine cases, crankshaft, balance shaft, rods, pistons, the whole thing most of the time…. So no these are not the same engine as literally ANY OF THE OTHER R1 year bikes or engines out there literally 👉🏻 ( 16’ 17’ 18’ 19’ 20’ 21’ 22’ 23’ 24’ ) . And this response wasn’t to imbearase you or make you look bad, but just helping you or anyone else out there that might read this post to appreciate the actual real deal opinion of a current race engineer/master mechanic/ race engine builder/ engine,bike,electronics, custom parts engineer and developer as well as a multiple Raceshop bussiness owner and professional that literally specializes in this exact platform as well as many others and has spent thousands of hours developing this exact race platform as well as several of its upgraded race parts currently being used in the Factory Yamaha WSBK superbikes and various other Yamaha R1 race team bikes currently being raced in WSBK, BSB, EWC, MASBK, ASBK, and so on and so on. 👍 but no these aren’t the same engines or even close mechanically or in this case the power outputs… not miles apart on power, but not the same at all either…
