Hi. How it the noise on the P90 pickups? I am thinking of getting one but I saw some complain on the net about the pickup noise.
@mikedamisch
@mikedamisch 7 ай бұрын
@@MilanChamling p90's are always noisy pickups since they're single coil type pickups. Love p90 pickups though, I play anything from fuzzy doom to clean, edge of breakup and heavily distorted sounds. Invest in a good noise gate and go for it.

I also have the P90 version, and I also play it as my main guitar. I did replace the original P90’s with Seymour Duncan P90 silencers to get rid of the hum. For context, I own high-quality guitars from Ibanez, Charvel, Schechter, and Fender.

Hi, can you please tell me the main differences between the professional and the standard? I see a lot of people complaining about the fact that the professional is not justfied more than double the price...
@orryfishburne5326
@orryfishburne5326 3 ай бұрын
@@ivanquaglio2242 as far as specs goes, the only difference is 2 carbon fiber strips on the body for extra resonance in the Professional, but the main reason why the Standard and Professional are priced so differently is that the Standard is made in Indonesia and the Professional is made in Japan.

Great review! I just bought one of these little buggers. From the factory I had to 1) adjust the truss rod to get rid of slight buzz on open E and A, 2) add some more foam to get pickups to my preferred height, 3) polish light machining marks on frets (scratchy on vibratos), 4) lower bridge height. All minor stuff. Plays like a dream! Love it!

I have the Revstar Element in the Swift Blue, and it's the perfect guitar... except (you knew there'd be an "except" to this). First, it lacks individual volume controls for the pickups. Being a Les Paul player for more years than I care to remember, that's something I really enjoy is being is each pickup having its own volume control. That way you can even use the toggle as a kill switch. Which brings me to my second problem with the Revstar, the slider switch. Again, I'm a Les Paul/Gibson player so I prefer the 3 way toggle over the slider. The slider/blade switch which looks like it's straight out of a Telecaster just feels cheap. Yeah, I could change out the tip, but the tip is not the problem. It's the switch itself. Possibly something I'm looking at modifying down the road. Lastly, I know you like the dry filter switch, but I'm not noticing a huge difference here in terms of it being engaged and it being off. Possibly that's something with the Element as opposed to the Pro, but to me it just seems like a bit of a waste. I'm contemplating having that replaced with a conventional tone pot. I know these seem like nitpicks, but I really do feel that these are something that detract from my overall enjoyment of the instrument.

I think you’ve got quite a few very valid points here. I really would love to do a side by side of the Pro and Element to see how different they are. I know someone has, but to have both guitars in the same room would be cool. Either way, they’re really cool guitars.

@@timjoseph887 That's right, I did. Like I said, I like it parts of it which I maybe should have said outright first. I do like how the neck joint gives you good access to the higher frets. It's got a cool shape to it. The frets themselves are excellent. It's a relatively light guitar which makes it easier to play. The neck very comfortable. The hardware is good enough (I might change out the tuning machines though). The color? Yamaha sells red in the UK and EU, which I would admittedly prefer.

I picked up a Revstar RS502 during the pandemic and just love it. But I'd also love to get my hands on the one of these Professional models. I just wish that they had some Pro models with the "dry switch" which is more or less a passive bass cut vs the "focus switch" boost.

I haven't played the comparably priced Standard Revstar, only the $2000 Pro model. So, I can't make a direct comparison. However, I've heard great things about the Standard Rev. I don't know how helpful this will be, but I think the Revstar is more interesting and enjoyable to play...but, for what you described, I think the SE 594 or even the SE DGT would be a better guitar to cover all of those bases. If you decide to grab one, check out my affiliate links in the description! They support the channel and don't cost you anything extra through ZZounds.

Yep that reinforcement with graphite in the neck is a touch and half from Yamaha, yep fluctuations of temp and humidity, that will help less time for it too rest on stage say, from it being taken out of the case and for yourself or a tech to need to keep it in tune from the neck reajust to to the envrioment, until you set off and play it. Smart thinking Yamaha. 🫡💯
