How to setup bluetooth devices on Yamaha RX-A2A receiver. Phone and Headphone setup on Yamaha receiver. This current 4K receiver will eventually support up to 4k120FPS and 8K60FPS as well with a future firmware update. Check out my other review videos, links posted below for a lot more information.

Nice video. I just got this reciever and am having trouble connecting to Bluetooth I tried everything before watching your video, hopefully when when I try again it would work

Hey, thanks for the video. No issues using the a2a as a bt receiver from devices that can actively search for the a2a. That said, none of my receiver devices (headphones) are being connected. Seems like the search is actually not running at all. When selecting device search it immediately says: not available. Current 1.31 firmware is also installed

No worries, did you put the headphones in pairing mode before entering the Bluetooth search menu? Doesn’t seem to work without doing that

Thanks for the video! Question for you: I have a Yamaha RX-A4A in 5.1 with Klipsch speakers. I would like to take the satellite speakers outside and use them for music on my deck. How would I turn down my L and R main and put the majority of the output into the satellites? The mains are just too large to move.

No problem. I forget off the top of my head, when you original perform the YPAO sound optimization, it takes you to the place to adjust the power for all speakers. I forget where the menu is since I’m currently not using it, need to get my new speakers setup for it

Thanks for explaining the bluetooth set up. Question, do need to go through the Yamaha receiver setup each time I use my headphones? Or will it automatically recognize my headphones. Thanks, Jim Paskell

Yamahas BT connectivity on headphones seems rather wonky.. I mean i can connect in way you did or the other wway as well but no matter i do, the headphones need to be manually connected each time i turn them on through either Yanaha OSD menu or the MusicCast app. Its rather inconvenient compared to all the other devices that always connect paired devices automatically when power is turned on. Also it seems my BT Speaker according to Yamaha, is not certified for copyright content so it wont connect it at all.

Hi, question. I have headphones steelseries arctis pro and i was using them with ps4 pro connected by optical cable. I bought Series X and headphones are not compatible. So if i buy AV receiver and connect arctis pro to it is it going to work?

If you use the "PHONES" jack in the front, then yeah it should work just fine.

By default it's going to get you quality sound so as long as you do the YPAO for optimization. The problem with showing my settings or doing a video on it is that quality sound for people vary, some people like lots of bass, some people don't. It really depends if you want to set it up for movies or games or music, etc. That's why I haven't really done a video on that. I may in the future but nothing is planned as of now. I do appreciate the feedback.

hi thanks for the video, I've got a Yamaha receiver and I just bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones, when I connect them to my receiver the receiver still plays audio out of the wired speakers as well as the headphones at the same time its really annoying, I would have thought that the receiver would mute the wired speakers?

No problem. You can control both volumes separately. You can just lower the volume all the way on the speakers and still hear the headphones.

@@landpet I hooked up my Wicked Hum headphones to my Yamaha TSR 5830 A/V receiver. It works, but I get fixed soft volume. I don't see any way to change it. The headphones have no volume control. Any ideas?

how did you do this all i have 2 on i can't get disconnect and audio send transmitter device search how did you do that?

Assuming you have the same receiver, turning on the bluetooth should give you those options.

I have bought the receiver, It is so great. But I have a problem. When connect it to the samsung q90t earc port, the sound can not be transmitted to the TV. Only set to arc, can it work, but it only have dolby digital+. Also, when I use zone2 to airplay or listen to spotify. The main zone must start, I can not only use zone 2.

Hmmm, my eARC works fine (LG CX tv), my ARC would cut out but looks like they fixed that with today's firmware update. Have you tried updating the firmware on the Yamaha? it's supposed to fix a few things.

Thanks for the video, I just got my Yamaha last week and I did find the Bluetooth connection to be a little annoying but that was between my phone and the unit ( So I can use it to stream music) I haven't tried pairing my Bluetooth headphones yet because when I'm watching something and I use them I just connect directly to my LG TV so really no need to connect them to the receiver most of the time.

Did you put the Sony in pairing mode before going into the menu with Yamaha?

I'm thinking about getting this amp precisely because it supports Bluetooth output to headphones. How is the synchronisation of sound between the Bluetooth headphones and the video? Does it vary according to source (set-top box, Blu-Ray player, console, etc., etc.)?

RX-679, How do I turn on the Bluetooth transmitter on. That setting isn't in the setup menu. I was told you need to turn the transmitter on from the MusicCast app but I can't get the app to connect to the receiver.

updated firmware on the RX-679 and the setting to turn the bluetooth transmitter was able in the menu.

I tried to update the firmware via the NETWORK and I kept getting NOT FOUND. I thought that was odd since the firmware was 1.08 and the latest on the Yamaha site was 2.86. I then assumed the firmware was so old the location the receive had to look to download the software had changed. I decided to download the latest firmware and do it using the USB UPDATE method which went smooth but it did take several minutes with several restarts, ERASING, it was as thought it updated it several times to get to the latest version. Bottom line I got the UPDATE SUCCESSFUL message. Not only did the Bluetooth TRANSMIT feature become available but the MusicCast app now let me connect to the receiver which it didn't before.
