I am a retired American came to the Philippines 14 years ago.I find it very pleasant and enjoyable here at 82 living totally on my SS each month it is a good life. Everything is so much cheaper here and there is nothing missing from what I found in the US, rnt so cheap, medical, food, transportation all so much less expensive. People very nice most speak good english, what more could a person ask for. MKL

Of the 175 areas where the treasure were hidden/buried, probably one of them was known by my father (deceased). He, with several other Filipinos, was asked by the Japanese soldiers to download drums from several trucks into a pit several meters wide in between hills. He was only lucky enough to run for his life when he learned the Japanese started killing one by one the Filipino helpers present in the area. He never told us the exact location of the area.

There had been rumors of some of the sites have already been discovered in Zambales and collected by local politicians. There is even one major site found inside the jungles of Subic Bay which was once under the control of the Americans. I’m sure most treasure hunters have learned from the mistakes of Roger and just collect the gold silently.

An uncle I know joined a group who still search for it. Our former mayor allegedly was successful to find gold bars near an old school. I've seen men dig nearby our home for gold bars though they were not successful. My great grandfather told stories about him seeing Japanese dig and bury gold bars near us but the Japanese took them back because the US soldiers are near. He was hiding at the top of a coconut tree they said.
