I have a question about your GSXR 600 you said it was 125 horsepower, I wonder is that at the crank because about a month and a half ago I had my 750 Dyno tuned flashed and remapped at two Wheels Dyno works, And I got 124.3 horsepower 55.4 torque. 🤔

My pick of the 600 class bikes is the 636 Kawasaki ZX6R. That extra 36 cc is very noticeable on the track and street. Looks wise the R6 gets it.

I rode a 636 back in the day but as I was swapping around loads of bikes all the time I couldn't really tell the difference between most 600's. The Honda's always seemed to have the stronger midrange of the 600's I rode a lot and they were the only ones that I nearly highsided in the dry on the road and track. I swapped one of the cams on my old F3 with a later one which didn't really give anymore hp but moved it up the revs a bit and made it easier to ride on the limit. For me the whole point of a 600 is you can get away with murder on the throttle and not worry about getting spat off. The Yamaha's always seemed to give the best most useable engines for my riding style. If I get back into riding I would like to perhaps get hold of a 636 B1H, I love the looks and they are sharp. At the time I was looking I'd got bored of 600's and bought the ZX10R instead, too much for the road but with mods was the most awesome bike I've ever ridden on the track especially with the slicks on. I think any modern 600 won't disappoint as long as everything is working as it should, all of them from the year 2000 on are excellent pieces of kit.

The r6 is so cool cause they made it look like the R1. Most of the R6 riders just wish they had the R1. I was lucky enough to take over my brothers payments on his 2018 R1. Went from my 2018 gsxr600 to the R1. Weighing in at 138 with full gear on the R1 was absolutely insane. Rode the hell out of it daily, aftermarket rearsets help the comfort level. Also adjusting the suspension to your weight helps tremendously.

Cbr 600rr was my first bike, rode that thing even when there was snow on the ground it always tore it up, fast af though you need at least a sliver of discipline to own one or it’ll make you pay

I got into this channel because i bought an 02 Bandit 1200s a month ago, you've really taught me a ton of stuff and ive been riding on the street since 1996 at 17. My second bike in 2007 was a YZF600R and it was my first "sport bike" and i was a squid for sure living in Norfolk and VA beach, not the navy type either. I accidentally wheelied the 600R multiple times but haven't popped up the Bandit 1200s yet, not trying to, but its definitely an amazing bike. Its came to me upgraded with everything Dale Walker related (5*timing, full exhaust, stage 2 jets with KN pods) and pushing 130hp and 80 ft./lbs supposedly plus A corny round scooter tail box and 18k miles all for 2K. Threw some new Road pilot 4 GTs on it and have been happier than i have been in over a decade, thanks for helping me remember my first love. Almost 1200 miles in under a month and i only come home to love on my dog and get him outside, license test tomorrow!! Better go study. I want a Papa Yams sticker, do you sell them? With the old yam face and beard/glasses? Ill go look but wanted to ask.

Got an 04 Zx6r previous owner put on full ohlins suspension, aftermarket exhaust, Quick shifter and drove it, not limiter and wheelies. 37 000miles on it. Not smoke no oil burn. Still solid with top end at 167mph. Be carfull in 1st and 2de gear it wants to power wheelie. I love it!!! Sleeps in the livingroom( all bikes must be kept safe and warm!)

My father had 2 bandit 600f’s and a single 1200S. He actually preferred the 600s. Just found them more fun in the corners and usable. But all of them according to him were bullet proof.

The 2007-8 Zx6-R (the one with the 599CC) is 405lbs wet and makes over 120hp with the jumper mod (literally takes 10 seconds and a paper clip to do) which puts it way ahead of many of the older 600s.

Absolutely love mine. I have an 08 and with the few mods (intake, full exhaust, power commander, jumper mod, sprocket change) it hangs with 1ks until about 130-135. The other nice thing is with it weighing so much less, it’s so much fun to throw around; more so than a liter bike

Picked up my new 636 two days ago, so far loving it. Very comfortable for a supersport. The only criticisms I have is it gets hot quick (it's winter here in Sydney) and the led headlights seem to be less effective around town than my other bike's halogens.

Try changeing the thermostat,might be faulty..Seeing you also dont go below zero in your winter,try either engine ice or watter wettef and distilled water....Make sure you bone up on house to do a good flush before change coolant..Dump factory rubber hoses and get some hoses from samco..By far better product..

As an owner of a zx6r, tuned with full akrapovic it is considerably more powerful than most of my riding buddies 600s. Yamaha seems to be a little more torquey on the bottom but once the bikes hit 10k my zx pulls off. I also can pull second gear wheelies at 100+, they cant get the front end up after 80-85.

That max is based on numbers of factory sprockets, it's pretty easy to go over 100mph with smaller sprockets on

636 2005/2006 model is said (by kawasaki)to produce 130.5 hp with ram air working fully. Stock. 187kg wet weight. It’s a beast!

The cbr600f4i shown at 12:20 was the predecessor to the cbr600rr not the 650f. They sold so well honda kept them in production yrs after the 600rr was introduced. I owned a 2002 sport model with the split seat. Great bikes.

I've owned 3 636's. A newer 2015 and two 06's. They are by far the best 600 I have ever ridden. I might be a little biased but they are hands down the best bang for your buck.

@@radgeh5924 Yeah, that makes sense. If it's a later model, that translates to low to mid 150's actual. Still plenty fast... I have been riding on the street since the mid 1990's, and owned 28 bikes in that time... done around 350k miles on street and track, and I am constantly amazed by how many people make wild claims, and simply don't know that much about the bikes that they own... Not you necessarily, just in general... 600's are amazing bikes and supremely capable on the street and track. But they are not high top speed monsters... To push through the air you need solid aero, and most of all, POWER. The faster you go, the more the air pushes back, so the more power you need to go faster, which then has the air pushing back even more, etc... It's why Bugatti had to add 200hp, just to get the Veyron to go another 7mph. 200hp, for 7mph...

@Police Corruption What road in the United States has a speed limit of 193 mph? Sure, on a track you'll beat a 650 any day, but I'm talking about practical applications like on a highway where a group ride might consist of speeds of 80-90 mph.

I have a bandit 1200s k5...and its air cooled and carburated,and i love it...with akrapovic exhoust,rejeted,k&n air filter its pushing probably around 105-110hp,but its not abouth the power,its abouth the torque...its super reliable,fun to ride and it pulls like a bigg diesel engine in a small car

GSXR1100 engine and tuning parts fit those, my friend had one with a load of GSXR1100 upgrades and I clocked him at 165mph which on a naked with him sitting bolt upright was impressive to say the least. He sold it to another friend who had to get rid of it because he strained his neck riding it. Then I can't remember if another friend ended up with it or if it was a different bandit but he fitted a sidecar and decided to put a water butt filled with water in it to balance it out. This was in the winter, needless to say it ended in a bizarre accident when the water spilled out one day that ended the bike.

In 2011 I bought my first bike. It was a 600…. My specifically it was a 2011 Red Daytona 675. I fell in love with that bike. I can’t sell it… it just sit in my garage under a cover. The engine is so forgiving, the exhaust note is intoxicating, and the chassis… well… the chassis has a split personality. If you push the envelope it will love you, care for you, and reassure you. If you just take it out for a slow leisurely ride, it will try to kill you.

I have a Thundercat too! Relatively quick for a 600cc bike and super comfortable to ride. Theyre dirt cheap too, got mine under 2k€ and its running perfectly

picked up a 98 thundercat for $400 with no fairings chopped the tail turning it into a street fighter definitely cut some weight off , stage 3 kit , shorty exhaust and a stage 3 kit , it's a little monster really fun to ride and the front wheel likes to come up

I'm continually blown away by the fact that new 600's still can't keep up with my 17 year old gsxr 750, that I bought dirt cheap several years ago. 145hp stock, 64 lb-ft tq, 426# (or whatever) wet. 75k on the motor, losing compression, still spanking bikes on the mountain and at the track that cost 5x-15x what I paid for her every weekend that I'm free to ride. Guess that modern production ICE bikes are near their max potential limit...

It's called torque. A 750 always has more of it than any 600. 600s have more HP and weigh less than older models, but they still don't have the torque. Liter bikes from 20 years ago are still faster than 600s and 750s because of... torque.

The overall hight isn't usually the problem, but rather the psition of the pegs causing my my knees to be bend so they hurt after like an hour of riding, but thanks though 🙌

Have a look at sport touring bikes. Im 6'6" and bought a cbr1100xx blackbird for that reason. I've also added lowering pegs and bar risers and its quite comfortable. Also the vfr800s are amazing machines

The 400 will be good until you go out with your friends on 600's. An ER6 or SV650 would be a good bike to get the rust off and it will keep up in a group as long as the riding is relatively sensible. It's what I'll go with if I start riding again, I'm 45, a 400 twin would get left for dead by both of my cars which cost peanuts so pointless for me. Shamefully riders are so slow these days I can keep up with most bikes on the corners. If I get another bike and I'm that slow that I can't outrun cars I will sell it straight away and get rid of my leathers. My cars are 2 decade old sheds, admittedly one has been used on trackdays and is well setup but even so it's nowhere near as capable as a bike. Doing the corners in a road car you have done on a bike is like going in slow motion.

I would just go with the 636 or other 600. Most 2 cylinders do not have enough power to warrant a sport bike setup. There are more comfortable bikes with similar power.

Moved up from a ninja 400 2 weeks ago to the zx6r. I only started on kawasaki because they had a really good starter bike I had no clue the zx6r reached 175. Regardless I love kawasaki and the way they do things.

I had a 2006 R6 a few years ago, all i did to it was a race air filter and a funnel exhaust (looked like a funnel with no baffle) would pull an indicated 285km or 177 freedom tickets.

For 3 years I had been daily commuting with a Inazuma 250, until months ago when it was stolen and burnt. I had to buy a new bike in a hurry as there are no transports to my work. Found a nice dealer and got a Bandit GSF 600 S 2002. I love it despite the carbs. I cracked hard when you said it's got 2 wheels, engine, goes and stops.

It was always between an r6 and a zx6 for me. Finally traded in my 13 zx6 for a 21 zx6 in April then immediately hear the r6 is dead. I really hate the r7 function wise, but I get that the person who wants an in-line 4 isn’t gonna be the kind of person who wants an r7.

First mod on a gsxr should be flashing the computer to keep the secondary throttle plate open more than 20% through the power band... Factory tune only gives full throttle potential in 2nd and part of third... Very annoying considering it does have a A/b mode for bad road conditions and such. Just my opinion.

For anyone looking at a thundercat look at fzr600 it's 1 generation earlier and if you put thundercat pistons and barrels on it (straight swap) you'll get 105hp at the wheels ish and 13.2:1 compression makes them a rocket ship

Is that the 600R or the early genesis? I have a magazine somewhere where someone got the two FZR engines and did something similar, it gave it a few more cc's. Personally I'd just get the FZR600R and forget the heavy Thundercat, it's a lighter, better bike and will do 155mph stock anyway. Has the bonus of looking like a YZF750R too with the foxeye lights, it is the true predecessor of the R6.

I've owned a ZX-6R they do not do 175 miles an hour I don't know where you got that information from. That would be faster than a GSXR 750 truth be told they get up to 162 to 165 miles an hour indicated so basically the 157 most mentioned in reality. The power drops off too fast past the power Peak so it cannot pull Redline in Top Gear

What your saying seems more along the lines of correct compared to what he was saying. I've seen numerous videos of newer 636's topping out at 165 & several at 168 and the video by way of title or answering comments said the bike was stock. So more than likely a GPS would say 160 if I had to guess. I've seen 155 and still climbing on a ZX-6E10 or just ZX-6 2002 model and that bike is really old. Wiki say's that bike's top speed is 154.00 and another website said it was 145?

Suzuki bandit was my first bike. it was a GSF 600 S Bandit 2002. If I recall the speedometer maxed out at 170.

I loved my 636. Even more then my current Gixxer 1k. The ergos were fairly comfortable at least for my size. I could pull 6 hour rides and feel pretty good.I plan on buying another one eventually just to throw around. I'm partial to plasma blue tho.

I toured on my R6 riding up to 8 hours a day with luggage, no problem. I'm 5'6" and weighed 140lbs at the time. All bikes pretty much fit me, the only ones I don't get on with are old dinosaurs like GPz900's which weigh a ton and everything just seems hard work on. The FZ750 from the same era works really well though, fit some modern wheels and tyres they handle really well.

I think the best 600cc super bike is a 2004-05 Suzuki gsx-r 600cc and it’s very impressive bc my 04 gsx-r topped out at 186-187 mph and it only had a slip-on and power Commander and it had 110-115hp

Just thought I would point out that the YZF600R was NOT based on the old R6. The release order went FZR600, YZF600R, and then the R6.

Came down to the comments to see if anyone else had caught this. Indeed It's the other way around, first gen R6 was based on the YZF600R in so far as it had the same base engine as the Thundercat just tuned differently to produce a bit more power. Also as an extra bit of trivia the first gen R1 used the Thundercat brakes.

All 600s are about the same speed..hondas are just made to be good street bikes with good low and mid range and not so much top speed...they are all within 5hp of each other.
