I saw Yang style in a park in San Francisco demonstrated by an elderly woman and I was shocked as I had never seen anything so peaceful before. I am in assisted living with many elderly people and it is difficult to see them in wheelchairs with medical problems. I take the time to practice 5 minutes a day which is as much as my body allows. Love, Mike.

How wonderful that you are practicing those 5 minutes a day, Mike! I had taken Yang Long form decades ago, and just joined a "grey haired" group that practices in a park three times a week!

It is very sad when someone dies or moves to a nursing home. Be thankful for your health! I practice out on a porch I share with a Vietnam Veteran who has terminal cancer. This place blew my mind. AHHHHHHH!

I've been practicing Silat and Escrima since 1993 and Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi since 2008. I like practicing slow twisting and circling steps with blades. It nourishes my brain and I circulate my chi to stay healthy and massage my internal organs to stay soft and limber. The first thing I would teach someone is how to relax and root and circulate Qi. After relaxing, someone can learn basic Gong Fu! Ginseng A river of life through eyes Seen blue skies and dream Each day’s scene A shade of green from the leaves Beautiful blossoms So many herbs Spirits Here you find a shining light So bright Brandish an axe Blades fast As Y Flash the task or die I rehashed the Sun Splash Never dry We relax Eye And get higher than the slaughter It’s over And over the shoulder we Cold as roll into ball We crawl Light relax and draw in and out the breath Take eight steps in eight directions Bet you get it Don’t sweat it We don’t threaten it The externalists wet in it with blood caked On Weapons Broken down into sections I made a new video. I bought a camera. There's some way to set it up without a phone. You have to be a rocket scientist to set up this camera. You have to learn how to edit video and run the whole shop. Peace. Thank you master !!! I have some experience with QiGong. I've been trying to practice this form for a week now, up until 1:34. It takes a lot of time, but I clearly feel a different energy that I haven't experienced in my previous QiGong work. Thank you, master !!!

This is lovely. I started with 18 form qigong shibashi and moved to 24 form yang style tai chi. The first, was good practice for the second. This traditional form would be the next logical step. Thanks for this video.

Where are you today? It took me almost ten years to learn our form, and another ten to feel semi comfortable with it. It saved my life on more than one occasion, though I will need many more years to grasp it's mystery. Good luck, keep practice. Train for life. Laoshr #60 Ching Yi Kung Fu Association

It's extremely precise and demonstrative, easy to follow and understand, which probably is the purpose of this video. The fluency suffers, though. Also, some movements seem to be simplified, similar to the standardised 24 style. I'd love to see grandmaster Jun perform, as he would do just for himself.

Yang Jun is the best for learning the precise form, but if I could offer some criticism, he's more robotical than Cheng Manqing and his uncles. I have met many Yang style masters and Jun is the most technical, but I personally feel he should loosen up a bit and add his own spice to the form. Imperfections can be beautiful with a little flavor.

1:41 This video is a copy from the Yang Family Teaching DVD and may be 20 years old. Master Yang Jun's performance follows the exact standard form - must do- it's from the Learn DVD. But there are also some Videoclips from the last ten years in the net. I learned and teach this form and style in Germany. Greetings, Conny

i had two school years available to study the full 108, so depends upon your available time frame. while better to learn something rather than nothing, in the long haul the long form is more complete and useful/functional.......

I agree I've practiced the long form for over 11 years. During which a lady admitted she had done 10 years of yoga and got bored. My tea he Neil Bradley, told us after long study it was better to learn the long form 1st. If we really understood that shorter forms prevent boredom. You bring the interest, and the journey to as as for as you intend.

Look at what's available around you, and jump in! I learned long form (and some Qigong warm ups) in my 30s, and recently joined a group that practices Long Form 3 times a week. They started with empty form, then when there was enough interest, began leading Long Form! I do Soaring Crane Qigong on my own other days.

Is this real tai chi or a dance performance or music theatre ( the music proposes it!) Where are the other dancers and actors? Or is this only part of the show?
@mikeneidlinger8857
@mikeneidlinger8857 Жыл бұрын
A lot of Taiji is Internal. It's difficult to pick up. If you learn all the movements, you can fight to some degree. You need to train for decades to get the Chi to really kick butt. I also practice Wu/Hao and Sun Styles! I also train various styles of Bagua and Xingyi, since 2008. That's when I made the Internal Switch! I started practicing Silat and Escrima in 1993. Taiji is my favorite Martial Art!

Try learning the Eight Ways! Ward Off, Rollback, Press, Push, Pull Down, Split, Elbow Stroke, Shoulder Stroke. Those are the building blocks of Taiji Gong Fu!
@mikeneidlinger8857
@mikeneidlinger8857 11 ай бұрын
I started learning Taiji by "blanking" strikes with sticks. I stopped using force against force and used minimal force. It's very confusing to an opponent who has never dealt with it! Always keep in mind that you don't use force against force and you use minimal force. You try to use 4 ounces to move 1000 pounds! I ended up sticking to the opponent and could use timing and leverage to push them out.
