In this video I take a realtime walk from the Western end of Maha Bandula Road in Yangon to its Eastern end. Maha Bandula Road is the main road running down the middle of Downtown Yangon. It is a busy pedestrian area and this video shows you what it looks like at dusk - as the afternoon ends and the evening begins.

What I find striking and interesting is everyone is walking around without a smart phone. Enjoying life and not staring into a little piece of glass and plastic. Smart phones in someways has ruined civilization.

Did Yangon used to be called Rangoon?. My mother was born in Rangoon many moons ago. My grandparents and family evacuated to India when Japan invaded Burma. I wish l had the opportunity to visit Burma and see where my mother grew up. I believe she lived on 42nd street in Rangoon. She passed away just before her 103rd birthday in Australia.

A good and educational video. It is an eye opening especially for those who are unable to travel, for a number of reasons. The images of this video gave one feeling of care-free and simple life and freedom, freedom of movements and peddling alongside old shop houses perhaps with lesser restriction, like our 'pasa malam' (night market in Malay) in Singapore China downtown. As observed, however, lives in Yangon seem to have improved significantly over the last few years.Like to see more on other areas of Yangoon.

Things on the surface seem to be getting back to normal but the absence of smiles, except on the faces of the children, seem to indicate to me that ‘happiness’ is still not that common among the adults. From the wise man: hmmmmm , it is good to see black Asian people over there on your camera and I hope that every race of people can see that all race have their differences but never judge a person by their race of their skin color but by their individual character , the world is like of the flowers of the fields that shows the beauty that with in that can flowish out In due season for all race of people with happiness and laughter and enjoyment that cares for one another as family suppose to do and their are character that have no place in their heart for joy and peace but rather hurt and kill until the clock turns back on them and take their life slowly with so much pain and torcher that the mind can no longer be with the body to think for it self but to lose their mind and soul to so much torcher that no more a person would know them self !
