I kept wondering why they didn't pinch hit Soto in extras that first game, but I realized they would have just walked him cause that run wouldn't have mattered. BUT, then it would have been Trevi getting the bunt down, if it's successful, they would have had 2nd and 3rd with Volpe and Verdugo each getting a chance to get a run in, so yeah they should have PH Soto, it's not like a walk would do any damage to the arm!

I like Cody Poteet and I think if Jon berti can come back and be a really high batting avg singles hitter in the 9 hole like he was, it's a sneaky really good upgrade. Obviously he doesn't have the same power as, like, a prime Anthony Rizzo, but a good job berti is a big offensive upgrade over *current* Anthony rizzo

The Yankee Doctors should be investigated for BETTING ON BASEBALL. There was no clear reason why Soto was held out by the Doctors against the Dodgers. Soto had forearm soreness against prior opponents that the player stated did not affect his performance on the field. The rain delay against the Twins was the perfect excuse to implement their plan.

I’m late, but Jimmy has been talking a late lately about how the Yankees “refused to improve the team” in 2022 and I really just have to push back on that because it’s nonsense. 2022 was the most aggressive deadline they had had in years. Montas, Benny, Effross and Trivino were meaningful additions that met all of our asks at the time. They did ruin it with the Monty trade, and they did fail to address IKF, but there weren’t many people screaming for them to go trade for Joey Wendle, who was like the only SS option available. That deadline the fans demands were a frontline SP (Castillo or Montas), dumping Gallo, getting a LF (Benny or Happ [or Soto but we all understood that wasn’t happening]), and bolstering the pen. They did all of those things. And yeah they basically all ended up failing, but to sit and say they “refused to improve the team” is ludicrous. Some crazy revisionist history Jimmy has been doing. The stubbornness was after the deadline when they refused to call up Peraza and let him play.

I don’t see the harm in bringing up Dominguez and sitting Stanton, allowing Judge and/or to DH most nights. Stanton is a blocker in the pure DH spot and will continue to be for years - you have to rip the band aid at some point and try something new. We know how good Dominguez is; we need him at the major league level.

Would have most likely won game 1 with him. Not worried. I am worried abt rizzo tho. No hope for him dude has looked awful for a full seasons worth of games now he has a negative WAR.

@@MikeD_ yes I would like to see anyone over rizzo, but we know how the yankees are. Rizzo will be the first basemen for the rest of the season and they’ll say he’s due to improve. Ik u can’t just throw anyone at first, but judge is athletic enough i think he could. It would help us so much. Dominguez in center, Verdugo and soto in the corners and big g DH, with DJ or waldo third

They came in best in the AL and best run differential in the league, lost 2 and left with best record in the AL and the best run differential. That being said, the offense looks _horrendous_ without Soto. The Rizzo, Gleyber, Catcher, DJLM 4some is a HARD watch. If Stanton is scuffling as he often does we just look horrible.

Judge to 1st base and call up Martian. Rizzo is really worrying me, his at bats do not look like normal Rizzo. (I understand learning 1st base is not super easy and would take time)
