Mildly amusing that, despite Noah winning this match but most of the points shown won by Lendl, the title of the video says something very different.

Lendl never got the acclaim for having one of the best, most well-disguised forehand dropshots in the history of tennis!

At first l didn't understand the title of the video because Lendl was winning every point. At the end yes Noah was playing well.

Le présenter comme le roi des rois ne suffira pas à l'élever ne serait-ce qu'au niveau de la cheville de Lendl. Il suffit juste de comparer leur carrière respective

Tennis was so much more graceful back then it has to be said. Back when real men hit backhands with 1 arm, Not needing 2 like a little girl

@bobdobalina8382 ай бұрын
@@thierrybourg8150 - Yes, Jimmy Connors was good, and yes he initiated the 2 handed backhand (Borg didnt really have one, just supported w the second hand, like in hockey). But now we have the situation that the elegant single handed backhand is dying and all the two-handers look the same so the game is losing its elegance and beautiy. No wonder it is falling in popularity.

Always felt Yannicks strokes lacked fluidity....Too much shoulder.....Lendl def biggest influence in my game.....But seeing way Noah used slice approach to best Mats in Paris was huge......cool post by the way

I don't follow pro tennis as much as I used to. Do they still use this Har Tru clay at any of the current tournaments?
@thawedcavebear2 жыл бұрын
WTA Charleston still uses Har-Tru, I think
@jonrobles14682 жыл бұрын
Not on the ATP Tour that I'm aware of. Houston has clay courts but they are similar to European clay. One of the Challenger Tour events has Har-Tru, but I can't remember which one. I don't know about the WTA Tour.

The most underrated aspect of Lendl's game was his net play. He was very solid but only attacked the net as a change of pace. Very solid tactician as well.
@8020Alive Жыл бұрын
Wrong. And the lack of Wimbledon victories prove it. Becker and Edberg are on record saying they would defeat him even when playing poorly.
@jonrobles1468 Жыл бұрын
@@8020AliveLendl played in an era where the grass at Wimbledon was MUCH faster than today, the ball bounced lower, and the surface became more uneven as the fortnight advanced. It obviously favored S/V players like Becker and Edberg. Lendl would have thrived at Wimbledon had the grass been today's grass surface: fairly even bounces, slower, and the ball bouncing higher. And I was talking about his play on hard courts. Lendl was more susceptible to early round exits at SW19.

Lol really?? You thought that, yet, at the end of this match their head-to-head count was 7-6 in Lendl's favour (so Noah had beaten him 6 times). So - are you some genius who overturns history? Or are you someone who proceeds in life through pure guesswork - or truth=whatever I think - and then 'Lols' when someone comes up with facts?

@@olivierlindenmaier7252 What? How is that relevant? By the end of this match Noah had beaten Lendl 6 times - that's the correct answer, not just mentioning one match.....
