I, too, am someone who loves to write extensive world building and lore for stories with supernatural/fantastical elements. I have a pretty large collection story ideas, and in total, 3 of them are vampire-centric, with all 3 also having their own separate systems in place. Two of them treat vampires as a "biologically-similar-but-still-different" species to humans, and the last one treats vampires/vampirism as something contagious for humans. To me, the concepts and ideas often found in vampire stories are really fascinating and fun to think about. I like the art, too, and the way the wings were drawn was very well-executed imo. Your OC Aaron/Erin (I'm not certain on spelling) reminds me of my own vamp OC, Vitaly, what with the whole "pretty boy with cool piercings" aesthetic going on.

Arin is very much a "pretty boy with cool piercings" type. He'll have more character as the story develops, obviously, but I don't think there's anything wrong with being trope-y! It makes it extra fun to subvert expectations that way >:3 And wow! Your ideas are so cool! I think the idea of vampires being human-adjacent is really cool. The idea of having separate stories/universes to play with different vampiric systems and dynamics is super cool !!

That's so interesting! I too am writing a series that features a lot of our favorite monsters (adding to the vampire lore n such)! You make a lot of valid points in your video that I really agree with. For me I've decided to take a different approach, changing vampires how we see them in modern day media. Fixing a lot of tropes and all that, so I'm glad to find someone else expanding on the creatures as well. Giving them more plausible effects and symptoms, etc etc! Keep at it, I'm sure plenty of people will be excited to hear and see everything you've come up with!

Hello fellow vampire nerd! ^^ I've been obsessed with them for some time now and have been trying to write a coherent lore for my story for a few years. I enjoy seeing what others come up with in their own lore as well, I think everyone has specific aspects they enjoy more than others and it reflects on how they portray their vampires. Are they monsters, are they outcasts, should you pity or envy them, are they traditional or do they go out of their way to be new, are they erotic beings, or dead things... I think you can get a good idea about the tone of a story just by reading about the lore of their vampires. Also I hadn't heard of people saying black people couldn't be sexy vampires before, there's literally so many black vampires in popular media alone. Haven't they heard of BLADE??? Or of Akasha, the literal vampire queen??? Or Theo Bell?? Or fucking BLACULA?

Seems like quite a few of us are writers🤭 I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also a vampire nerd, I'm pretty much obsessed at this point. They're my favorite thing to write about, and seeing different people's takes on them is one of the most interesting things for me. If you don't mind me asking, what is your take on Vampire Souls and Reflections? (If you say that I have to read your comic to find out, then that's cool too. Respectable even💜)

What a great question! I have it written down somewhere that they do have reflections, I think I just forgot to mention it :( There were quite a few things I forgot to mention. There's only so much you can say in ~10 minutes. But! It's based on the idea that old mirrors were made out of silver, so it makes sense that back in the day, old school vampirws wouldn't be able to see their reflection since silver is pretty commonly anti-monster, but modern mirrors aren't made out of silver anymore, so I think that wouldn't be an issue anymore. And with souls! What a loaded question. Obviously, souls exist on some level in this universe. Otherwise, there wouldn't be ghosts. And I specifically mention in Jo's journal that only a human can turn into a ghost after death, so I feel like that implies that vampires don't have souls, but I don't really think that's true. Because at the end of the day, they were still human, so I think that maybe they still have souls. They're just different somehow. Like the soul morphs into something new once you become a supernatural creature. Like, a ghost soul is obviously very different than a human soul. I'd love to play with that idea more, maybe even something I really delve into in the comic! You've really got me thinking! What a great comment

Hi! My comic is not out publicly yet! I am working on writing it currently, and I have the first few pages drawn up. My goal is to begin publishing it before the end of the year, either in tapas or webtoon (or both)!
