I have a kart that's 1/2 inch off the ground and you gotta be careful not to hit a pebble and 10mph feels like you just crossed the Atlantic thirty times over.

My spine didn't kick in it kicked out and sideways and diagonal. You would think when they replace your back with titanium it would be better. Although I can say my back is worth more then some peoples cars and even some people houses. I wonder if I can sell it for scrap?

That was my ultimate dream as a kid. I found out as an adult my father totally could have bought me one but he told us we were poor. In reality he could have bought a few hundred of them for me and all the kids at school. Thats way faster then I thought I thought it was going to like the riding lawn mower they got stuck in mud.

I had a 1993 Manco Dingo Off-road Buggy 8hp Brigg's Stratton 305cc With the Emergency Brake she was a blast I rode it Spring Summer Fall and Winter She went anywhere a Quad could go and places they couldn't go lol
@poopjeans1135Ай бұрын
Dude, the Dingo is a yard kart. NO suspension, so NO, it's not an off-road buggy, you're full of crap right out of the gate. Second you're not gonna jump a kart with no suspension like you can a quad. That's completely made up nonsense, goes anywhere a quad can. Yeah, and my left toe is made of solid gold.

Hello Mustie what temp did you lower that too just curious I have the same welder that was fun ride now who flipped latter on after the video?! , thanks. : P
@richardbaumeister4666 жыл бұрын
Here is a tip for you. If you take a cut off wheel of the appropriate diameter and mount it under your 3" roloc just by locking the roloc onto its backing plate normally you can create an edge grinding roloc. works best with the 3" roloc.with the rubber backing plate (the most common. It makes the backing plate a little more rigid but it allows edge grinding like you did in the beginning of this video and makes the backing pad last much longer. Great for grinding welds in hard to reach locations
@zx8401ztv7 жыл бұрын
That just looks like a heap of fun :-D, i can see you both loved that :-D. There is a fault with your weld, gotta plate the unbroken side too LOL :-D.

Back in the late sixties early seventies my brother and I had a few go-carts the motor to have then were the two stroke McColloughs 101's and 91's man we had so much fun seems like not many people that are younger ever heard of those motors they were designed I think for go-carts.God bless my dad for always taking the time for my brother and myself and making sure we always had fun.Everything about anything on wheels we learned form our dad it was passed down.

I would like to give you some help with your welding, since I am a retired boiler/ maker welder, if you are going to weld lets say two flat surfaces together to make the steel longer and depending on the thickness of the steel you can do 1 of 2 things. No1 for thin steel lets say 1/4'', grind a one side of the steel to form a V shape, leaving about an i/8 '' flat face surface, butt both ends use 2 G clamps one piece to clamp to the bench, align the other piece up use 2 G clamps to hold the other piece in place, then tack weld both sides, starting from the 1st tack that you done, weld from the outside in to about 1/2 way, then repeat same from the other side, by doing this method, you will get good welding penetration, no2 using the same two pieces of steel, repeat process as of no, but this time do a butt join, leave up to a 1/16'' gap, increase the amps just a tad to get a good tack then repeat welding process, but if you are doing a running welding repair in place like you done on the home built go cart you repaired for your mate, where the motor mount was, I noticed you removed the paint first to get a good weld, I have done that also on painted steel, I did notice that you just clamped the pieces of the flat bar to get a flat surface, then you tacked the top of it, when you removed the clamp, you tacked the bottom side then you proceeded to weld from the top down, here is a tip, tack the opposite side of the flat bar both top and bottom, using your grinder with the cutting disc, grind a small slot in the opposite side, increase the amps and the wire speed just a tad, starting from the bottom of the flat bar, weld upward using what is called the Christmas tree weld also known a s vertical up welding, to do this type of weld, start the weld off like you are going to do a tack, then do a side to side weld at the same time return to the centre of the weld then move up a tad, continue that process till you get to the opposite end, on the other side of the flat bar, repeat the same process, starting with the grooving out, then weld away, remember to seal off the top and bottom of the flat bar, by doing this sort of welding, there is no need to weld any extra plates for strength, trust me, your welding will improve greatly, Happy welding Sam Knudsen Adelaide, South Australia

They really do skimp out on the motor mounting systems on most go-karts. Most tweak or break over time. Wouldn't be a bad idea to weld a few strips of metal under the mount plate so it doesn't bend again.

If you're running that thing off-road much at all, you're going to want to add a few more tacks to the belly pan. It took all of one weekend of running around in my buddy's field for both of his Dingo's pans to come loose. Also, as you predicting, he did flip one... 9 stitches in the forehead, no helmet. Dingos were gone 2 weeks later. If you're going to wear a helmet and risk injury may as well ride a quad.

When I use to ride mine in the rough stuff i'd litterally hook my foot on the gas under the front bumper and my but could bounce a foot off the seet in the rough rooted trails and I kept it pinned the whole time. For a bit I had a friend that kept saying how the heck are you keeping it floored he keeps bouncing out the seat too but he did hook his foot lol. when he did see what I was doing he laughed and said inovative I guess. My own cruise control baby. edit: watching this video I dont think my 8hp was any faster, but I will say mine took off fast because with my light butt in the seat it spun or shirped a few inches maybe a foot on pavement. in the dirt it spun hard with me in the seat. I weighed 130ish pounds soaking wet. Look at my profile pic. was 18 or 19 then im 46 now. That was the day I picked it up was putting oil in it.

Wow looking @ this dingo brings back a lot of memories of the o e I had. My dad bought me one because he got tired of all the other kids having go karts and they were mean and wouldn't share so my dad did a fatherly gesture and got his son a dingo and I remember on Christmas morning I was tearing the roads up and low and behold they wanted to drive it yeah right my dad told me to tell them to kiss my ass. I'm 38 now and I was 15 when I got it. I'm buying my 6 y old son a coleman 100cc and I hope he remembers these moments in life
